You couldn’t really ask for a more appropriate title for this series. At first I thought I wouldn’t like it because in the summary it didn’t seem as if the main character took love seriously. However, I’m extremely glad that I gave this one a chance.

Story: The story is pretty straight forward, a girl going around looking for a boyfriend. Doesn’t sound too exciting, except for the fact that anyone who has been through high school can easily relate to the situations. It’s almost as if Wataru Yoshizumi might have been writing about her own high school experiences.

Art: Yoshizumi is an amazing artist. The work for this was absolutely phenomenal. Her art style is pretty quince as well, so you don’t become bored with the art very easily. Yoshizumi also has an amazing talent for fashion, which keeps you reading just to see what cute clothes Yuka was going to bring out next. I found myself wanting her wardrobe every time she came out with a new outfit. (This is pretty special since I’m not into fashion much.)

Characters: The great thing about these characters is that you probably went to high school with someone like them. They all act like normal high school teenagers, suffering from the pressures of relationships and studies. They all have talents, but there’s nothing that makes them superhuman.

Enjoyment: It was really nice just reading about normal people for once. In all, it was pretty predictable, and yet still subtle in some ways. There were some parts that seemed to be lagging just a bit, but other than that it was really good.

Random Walk is one of those stories that you need to be in the mood to read, or else you’re just going to get fed up with it. So, next time you’re in the mood to read a cute romance story, go pick up Random Walk!

~Story~
The story is about a girl named Yuka who grows through the trials of multiple loves, she learns minor lessons from most of those relationships and continues to try until she finds her “true love”. At first I was hesitant to read it, the description made the manga seem like a very clique love story filled with nonsense drama but it really was not. The manga consists of 15 chapters and one extra, all of which consist of Yuka and her two friends searching for love, some even falling. The plot was a bit over used but only due to the fact there are a lot of manga like this, the girl searches for her true love and begins to like many people along the way, trial and error.
~Art~
Was the art amazing? No, it was simply drawn, nothing fantastic or praise worthy, the characters were just cute not beautiful or stunning in any way. The boys eyes looked a little feminine and their stature was overdone a bit. The girls were just okay, they weren’t drawn in a way that was award worthy.
~Characters~
Yuka was the female lead, she was upbeat and usually had a smile on her face, she was very much the heroin that you would expect in this type of manga, very weak in some ways and stronger in others. She fell “in love” a ridiculous amount of times, no thats not true perhaps it would be better to say she thought she was in love with them until she met the one whom she truly loved. I noticed she fell in love with really foolish men who either cheated or used her as an affair, it was quite clear she had bad taste in men.
There are four boyfriends which she had in the manga, three lasted about four chapters each and the last was her true love. I noticed two of the boys looked remarkably alike, facial structure wise. The other two had some similarities but nothing blatantly obvious.
~Overall~
Overall i found the manga clique in a lot of ways which is why i couldn’t rate it higher, it really didn’t stand out from your usual romance/drama manga. Did it have some qualities that were unique? No, not really. Certainly the writer made it their own but it wasn’t so different from anything else most of us have read. It was also a tad bit repetitive and predictable, you knew what would happen the entire time and you patiently waited for it. I would personally recommend this manga to people who are looking for some light to read, nothing that makes you think. If you’re looking for something with a deep plot and lots of unpredictability you won’t find it here.
