Rising x Rydeen review
The base concept of the story was very interesting, after reading it doesn’t make any sense why author went with all the trouble for making into a harem manga it just makes no sense.
The story was straightforward focused on those “strangers” with powers and the harem and romance were just like a seasoning on top just keep the readers looped in, when I realised that it was heart-breaking 😞 moment. I must agree to that from the start to finish the male protagonist of the story was the most funniest not to mention the powers he hones (I must say, you got to see that part at least) In addition to that, author could have added few additional shady plots for experiment being done on those “strangers”. |
Rising x Rydeen review
We've all dreamed of having superpowers, but what if one day you're told you have one and it turns out to be the worst(or the best???) power in the world?
The story is set in a world where people called "strangers" are the wielders of superpowers and their powers are ranked from E to A(E being the weakest). Our MC Shimonone Takara is a kid with big dreams of having amazing superpowers. He even practices his future signature moves every day in order to be ready for when his powers "awaken". If only his power turned out to be the one he actually wanted... The comical situations our MC and his harem are involved in include many ridiculous and ecchi moments that are triggered by his "power". These situations come frequently as he's still new to it, and many times he can't control himself... literally... Your typical comedy/shounen manga actually does well in the comedy department, but it's filled with plot cliches that become repetitive with each chapter. The character development is also cliched and unsatisfying, filled with countless flashbacks that only feel forced on the story to tie up nonexistent loose ends. And as with all harem genres, the characters' relationships disappoint. The art is good, it does well to transmit the quirkiness and the funny reactions of the characters. The character designs are really good too, they fit all their personalities perfectly. The powers are also well drawn, specially the powers of the MC and the main girl of his harem. Rising x Rydeen was an entertaining manga with many great comedy moments that left you laughing at the end of each "release", but felt flawed when the real plot came in. An anti-climatic ending and an overall experience that begs for a "read the LNs for more", Rising x Rydeen is an overall good read for comedy and ecchi lovers. |
Rising x Rydeen review
Rising x Rydeen is basically a superhero story. It's about a group of "strangers" who fight evils in the world. These strangers have extraordinary powers like lightning, fire, etc.
Story - 9: I find the storyline a little confusing. It's really good, but can be confusing in some parts. It's very unique and very funny too which is the main reason why I gave it a 9. If it becomes clearer, I think this would easily become a 10. So far the story is extreme good and worth reading. Somehow this story kinda reminds me of Love Hina. Silly but serious guy who in a sense is trying to win the hard to get girl. Art - 9: Great artwork. Emphasis on boobs which really is annoying in my opinion. Characters - 9: The characters are extremely serious when it comes to fight but just plain silly any time after. They look like heroes but then turn into high schoolers. I think it's a fun and entertaining mix. Enjoyment - 10: So far I really really like this manga. Even though it's not the best I've read or am reading, I'm really interested in what happens in this manga. I feel like it's got 2 story lines happening at once I guess... Overall - 9: Great manga. Read it if you like adventure, harems, love and romance, and just simple comedy. Note: If you're here for fighting, you'll be disappointed. Sorry :( |
Rising x Rydeen review
Rising X Rydeen is on the surface, your stereotypical Main character want's to be the best, he's given lame, but somehow powerful(in a way) powers, creates a harem. Probably the main difference about this and other super power genre is that the main character really has a ridiculously stupid power. There are also shortcomings in this manga, when you finish, you'll feel somehow unfulfilled. You'll have more questions than answers which would be fine if the author didn't decide to leave it basically in a cliffhanger situation. Other than that, most of it is somewhat enjoyable.
Story: 6 - It's your common main character wants to be recognized as the number one hero, but gets the lamest power you can possibly imagine. Surprisingly he has amazing and powerful connections in the form of pretty girls which make up the firepower in their team. The story did go a really generic route, but what really earned it my disapproval is that the story decided to halt it's progression when things had started to get interesting. It had the potential to get better, and have an interesting story while albeit it being generic, it however died down and left in a cliffhanger state. Art: 8 - I don't have enough experience with Manga art so this may come as a little biased, but it was well drawn in my opinion. It's highly detailed and isn't a sore to look at. Character: 7 - Here's where it made the manga interesting and enjoyable to read. The main character Takara is hilarious, coupled that with his power to shoot out gel, it makes for one of the funniest and enjoyable scenes I've read in manga. To be blunt, yes he's that dense, stupid MC that is cool only when someone threatens his harem, but it doesn't affect the story in a negative way. His harem doesn't really differentiate themselves from typical anime/manga tropes. They all eventually fall for him, but since the MC so dense, he seems to not realize anything. That may all seem negative, but his harem isn't all that bad. I especially like Mikan because she's the only one who had previous connections to the MC, but alas nothing happens... Curse you nonsensical "Romance" genre!!! Enjoyment: 8- Even though it looks like I've been bashing this manga a lot, I still enjoyed it. It wasn't to the point where I was super excited to go to the next chapter, but it was a fun read. It would have been a whole lot better if some progress was actually made, and the "Romance" tag actually meant something, but nonetheless I didn't feel like my time was wasted reading this. Overall: 7- There you have it. Manga is unfulfilling, short, generic, but it was also quite enjoyable and funny most of the time. It's a good read for when you just want to waste your time, but not be overly bored or attached to the one you're reading. |
