Uchi no Ko no Tame naraba, Ore wa Moshikashitara Maou mo Taoseru kamo Shirenai

Wonderful series. I really liked how Latina and Dale's relationship progressed. It does seem weird that the daughter-father relationship changed like that, but Latina never saw Dale as a father, and it took a while for Dale to accept her feelings. The author took some time to write about how Latina sees everything, so I think that helps too.

Volumes 4-6 is where the series really shines. It's where we find out why Latina was banished from her hometown, and we get to see Dale be a true hero. We also learn about Latina's parent's backstory (a better romance than Latina and Dale's imo). There is a lot of action, and everything seems to flow well.

Volume 7-8 are more filler, minus the wedding at volume 8.

The illustrations are really beautiful and help make the characters come to life.

When you've grown tired of killing, taking care of a beautiful little girl can heal the soul and bring happiness to your life. (Warning: this is a age-gap love story, you have been warned. Usagi Drop all over again)

Good (early) story: Dale stumbles upon a little demon girl, and decides to let her live with him. The idea of a human taking care of a demon when they are generally looked down upon really is an interesting premise and it gives this story a different feeling than most fantasy novels I've read. But it is more of a romantic story than the title implies. There is also a really slow start, so do not expect much action, adventures or anything else early on. (I liked the calm atmosphere though)

Mediocre Characters: The personalities are not very unique, it's actually a let down compared to the story. The shy little girl whom everyone adores. The overprotective older man with a dark past. As well as friendly Inn owners that doesn't stand out. It's all been done before, but I can't say I dislike anyone of them.

Art: It's not a very big part of light novels, but the art is really beautiful in this one. Latina is adorable, Dale is quite handsome and the pictures are perfectly portraying that. Absolutely among the top illustrations I've seen in light novels.

Overall, There are many time skips, so the girl's age is always changing, it's a shame that the author rushed the story so much. But if you do not mind age progression, then the story is very interesting. But that title really should be changed, since Latina is not considered a daughter for very long.

Story: This is series has two parts. The first part (volumes 1-3) is what you would expect from the title: man finds a demon child and raises her. It's very heart warming; I had a smile on the entire time. The second part (volumes 4-5) does a near 180 and goes into the histories of the characters and the age gap romance between the two leads. The story pretty much ends with volume 5, as the subsequent volumes don't progress the story in any meaningful way.

Art: Illustrations are very good. Nothing much to say here. One thing to note is that the illustrator was changed after volume 1 for some reason.

Character: Generic but in a good way. Not bad at all, but nothing mind blowing either. I think it works for a story like this.

Overall: The overall plot is very similar to the manga Usagi Drop. Whether you'll like this series will depend a lot on your personal tastes (especially the 2nd part). Decide for yourself whether you think you'll like it or not.

Loli and daddy/ fantasy

Whenever someone talks about loving a loli, I would laugh at that person. Loving loli is illegal because of the law, and the concept of loving or being crazy about someone so young is absurd and hilarious. Yet, now, my mind has been shaken or shattered. I never NEVER knew that I would succumb to the power of loli until… I read this manga. (police please arrest me thanks)


Story: 8
The main forte of this manga isn't the story itself. We have way too many fantasies with family-story-relating manga. Yet, regardless of its common theme, the manga flows as a good normal story would want. So, it deserves a better score than a normal which is an 8.


Art: 10
I don’t remember that I have ever read any manga that has drawn any Loli that can make me shout "OMG" so loud in my heart. Whenever I see Latina's expression, my heart melts as if I am her dad... Latina (the daughter, aka the Loli) is so ADORABLE to the point that someone needs to call the police to make sure readers (including me ofc) stay away from her… For that reason alone, this is a 10.


Character: 9
Since it is a rather cliche story, the character setup can be rather generic as well. But!! the creation or existence of “Latina” as a character is Godly!!!!!!!!!!!! So it deserves a 9 (pretty biased as you can see)


Enjoyment: 5 or 10
I sincerely love this manga (10), but I f**king hate monthly updates...(thus with a potential 5)

If you are a loli-lover, this manga is like a bible for you. If you are new to the concept of loli, this manga might be a great example of why loli’s smiles are so deadly.



P.S. Honestly though, reading this also makes me feel that Dale, the dad, is creating a “future wife” for himself rather than taking care of Latina as his “daughter”… (We seriously need to keep him in check!) (ꐦ ಠ皿ಠ ) Latina is mine!! (police has arrived at my house at last)

Do you really think this manga only show-off cuteness of FMC? NO you're wrong, as the story get further, the character and storyline develop into quite something.But let me warn you this manga contain Cuteness that can make you get a cute-cancer, Diabetes, and heart stroke from cuteness!! and the worst.... Searchin for Cute Loli around you.
i'm not going to spoil the story, but from my point of view this one may be surpass bunny drop.

I was too late when I had finally noticed. This series is not literature but religion; and at this point I speak of it not as a critic but as an ardent believer.

The manga (and it's corresponding LN which I have not yet read) is based upon a fantasy world where your average over-powered, shaggy-headed, and hopelessly single demon-slaying hero falls into depravity at the hands of a succ- I mean, picks up a cute little demon girl and attempts to raise her as a daughter.

I am in no way a stranger to fantasy and loli's; even so the charm of this manga presents itself on a completely different level compared to anything I've ever seen before. An earnestly spirited little girl; an overly-protective foster father; a town full of ped- children-lovers; the relationships between the characters are wonderfully precious to behold. If you harbor anything that remotely resembles human emotions you WILL fall prey to its adorableness.

Am I verified enough of manga and the like to actually critically review manga? Probably not, but after reading the first 10 chapters of this I feel like I have to. This manga surprised me as it made me realise what a hypocrite I was, I had an intense anger for people who willy nilly gave out 10's to manga which obviously didn't deserve it, and perhaps that's exactly the case with this manga. But I love it to pieces so stfu.

For a brief summary, essentially is about OP (but not obvious) Dale finding a small demon girl in the forest after the one guiding her dies. From there it's essentially just a gigantic cute fest as Latina steals the heart of Dale and everyone in existance, including the reader

There is one overarching word for this manga which I as an 18 year old male don't even hesitate to describe it as, CUTE. I honestly can't get enough of it, tbh I'm not into the whole Loli deal with adventure stories, so with this being based as a connection between father and daughter within a fantasy setting it already scores high points for me. While comedy may certainly be a subjective aspect for anyone, at least for me I found it hilarious, especially with the running gag of Dale going into withdrawal without Latina.

Incredibly well done, while not game changing or mind blowingly unique, still establishes the tone and feel of the story as well as punctuating the comedy.

Love that it's based as a loose form of narrative unlike the traditional plot point driven story so it feels like the reader is coasting alongside Latina and Dale

To sum up by opinion of how the characters are set up, to put it succinctly, if anything happened to Latina or Dale I would lose passion for reading.
Also the side characters of the patrons and the parents are very well done :)

If you hadn't guessed by now, this is possibly the best manga I've ever read in terms of the enjoyment I get from it.

Now speaking (technically typing.. just go with it) rationally, this manga isn't the best manga in the entire world based off of the first 10 chapters and has no where near the complexity of other top rating manga, but I believe that the enjoyment of the reader always comes first.

P.S. Kinda realised that my craze for this manga is worrying, considering how much I've written for it. Also I will update this review if there's drastic changes as more chapters are released.
