Miyoshi Yoshiko is working her way as a model by doing various modeling gigs for her agency. After one of those gigs causes her to lose her job as a model, she now faces a desperate situation of being broke and unemployed. Things start to look up when she gets offered another modeling job, but this time it's modeling for Chuujou Tarou, the lecherous sculptor who got her fired in the first place! How will Yoshiko handle working for a perverted employer who can't keep his hands off her–not because he's attracted to her, but because he likes her bone structure?!

Venus ni Arazu review
This manga is really cute. Im not sure if its finished or not but i've read up until chapter 4. Its really funny and the main guy is a really funny character. the camraderie between the two characters is really well written and the art is well drawn too esp the chibi characters:) The protagonist is pretty funny herself and even though she lacks confidence in herself at times she's still very solid. She doesn't weep every five minutes and she doesn't smile all the time either.
The development of the characters and their interactions with eachother are just so fun and the scanlator even made a spoof chapter of using the real pages of chapter 3(?) which is also pretty funny. I actually read that one before the actual chapter and both had me crackin up. other than that its light, it's funny and quite enjoyable. I would say check it out:) |
Venus ni Arazu review
I hesitated to read this manga because the website I was on tagged it as "smut." There is some nudity and there is sexual tension but it is not overwhelming.
The main characters are an oblivious guy and a moderately insecure gal. I appreciate the fact that the female lead had reasonable thoughts and reactions to everything that happened or didn't happen between her and her love interest. And, to top it all off, the story is very, very amusing. I laughed the entire way through. The drawbacks to this story are it's brevity and it's pacing. I understand that you can only do so much in too volumes. Still, I think there should have been a better expression of the passage of time so that the development of the relationship could be conveyed better. The artwork is good BUT it is not at all detailed. The main character is a model and there are many scenes involving the fashion industry. So, it would've been nice to have more detailing. I did actually think a couple of the outfits were nice though. Also, the male lead was very well drawn (handsome but not shiny!) and the facial expressions and chibis are great. Very funny! Overall, I give this manga an 8. None of the individual parts are remarkable, but it is extremely enjoyable because the characters are good and the presentation is humorous. |

Venus ni Arazu Manga Review
By: Yuki Yoshihara Dated: April 29 2020 The manga is about a girl named "Miyoshi" aspiring to be a known model in the entertainment industry. Though that is what she wishes for to happen, she only do sideline jobs at an art school, modeling for art students. There, she will get to know "Tarou", a teacher on that school, who's famous in his field. Captured by her beautiful body, she ended up being a model of him, while still pursuing her career. I love how indifferent characters on this story are. While we always see characters whose lovable, cute, and shy, these two made the story lively. Miyoshi having been able to ride on all the craziness of Tarou is really fun to read. And Tarou, though always made anything a joke, but has that serious side which he rarely shows is the best. Yes, the art is not that great of a view, but there's this calmness and elegance whenever you see how the feelings of characters are expressed. From the proportion of their bodies, to the shape of their faces, it was all great to see. Mainly the eyes of the characters which will say it all. Adding the chibis and extra cute expressions they make that I really find cute. It's a shame that this is only a short story. The concept is unique, and I want to see more development on their characters. Seeing more of their expressions and feelings will be great. Sad that it didn't last. It only consists of, I think 7 chapters, so it was a fast one. But yeah, it's really a great read. |
