W-Juliet review
W-Juliet is one of the most heartfelt, outstanding and underrated mangas I have ever come across.
The story sounds like a stereotypical highschool-romance with gender bender tendencies which leads us to the assumption that the tomboyish girl will fall in love with the beautiful and popular boy, but thats not the case, at least not for most of the story. The main part of the manga revolves around the theater club which Makoto and Ito are members of, and its basically said pretty nice to see that Emura created worlds within a fictional world. You can see that for example Swan Lake, got a total revamp, same with Romeo and Juliet. Makoto and Ito both try to chase their dreams while for one of them it happens to become much more difficult to fullfill what they always wanted: being together and starring in theaters. With that said its easy to say why I love this manga so much. The character develop their very own personality within the progress, they both grow up and start to live a life of their own, both try to find out whats wrong and whats right, whom to trust and whom not to. It shows us that even with circumstances in your way, that you're not always able to withstand, you always have a chance of luck. And you have to make the best of it. A+ original story, awesome characters that will break your heart more often than you want them to, all in all, an incredible rich story. |
W-Juliet review
I'll be honest. I'm picky on art. I usually hate the stories where the male has to pretend to be a girl in a school since the outcomes are bad (in my opinion) but I happened to loved this one. Makoto's attitude with Ito is rather different compared to other mangas with the plotline and there is pretty good progress between Ito and Makoto. There's no cliche obstacles for them to overcome in order to build character. It's a really good classic to read and/or reread. Not to mention that there's a sequel continuing off to build their relationship even more.

W-Juliet review
I honestly love W-Juliet. It is one of my favourite mangas because,
The main girl character (Ito Miura) was not some cry baby like where all the other romance shoujo manga I've read where the girl cries about almost everything. I honestly loved how her personality changed a bit and her style (etc) changed. It really shows how much her character has progressed and gives the manga a very good vibe. The main guy character (Makoto Narita) I absolutely loved as well. I loved how much effort he put into his goal and showing how he would not give up. I loved how he was sweet and not rude. And to top it all off Ito Miura and Makoto Narita were such cute people I honestly just loved both of their personalities, and how different yet also similar they were. I loved how each chapter of the story you read it would be kinda different while still keeping the same plot and theme which made it more interesting and enjoyable. Overall I really loved everything about this manga and would definitely recommend this to people who like not mushy romance but a calm and sweet type and especially if you like gender benders. (I would definitely read this again!) |
W-Juliet review
W-Juliet is one of the best mangas out there, it has awesome characters that are easy to like and understand....but the best part of this manga series is the plot which is basically boy meets girl but under weird circumstances; where the main girl character looks like a guy and acts like one and the main guy character is under cover as a girl in order to impress his father so he can take up a career in acting. The story is amazing and nicely told and not only does the manga focus on romance it also nicely blends comedy into it along with other
factors such as the two main characters love of acting. Overall I give this manga a 9/10.
