Yougen no Chi

In a dark world, researchers carry out horrific experimentation in the name of curing disease. The result is chimeras and other unholy creatures. Our story follows one former researcher, Ryuunosuki. His problem? Not only is everyone after him because of his unusual blood and flesh, but he finds himself the caretaker of a vampire doll, and a voracious flesh-eating woman.

There are some horrific moments. I found myself pretty grossed out over seeing gory body parts of dead chimeras, and the meat-eating lady going after the chunks of flesh...

But despite the somewhat bleak setting, the story is not all dark. There is a good dose of humor and drama. The story is very intriguing and engaging, and deals somewhat with medical ethics.

The artwork is dark, slightly gritty and sketchy, but it fits the mood perfectly and is very well done.
