One Piece review
This one gets 10s across the board. The absolute best manga I am reading right now and I hope it never ends tbh. KEEP GOING (G)ODA SENSEI!

I will not ruin anything and I'm sure I am not really adding to any of these reviews because so many people adore this series, but honestly: no other manga makes me laugh more than this one, nothing!! I've actually burst out laughing in the middle of quiet public places (like the library) and I've laughed so hard that I've cried. There are also times where the story is so moving and touching that I'll cry in the middle of public places (like Borders Cafe). There's something really special about this manga, the way it so easily evokes emotions. I have literally enjoyed every single arc in this manga so far, not even a wasted page! Also, the stories are endlessly re-readable. I've read One Piece first volume to most recent volume about 8 times already and I find even more things I like about it each time I re-read it.

All of the characters are so interesting and likable. And by that I mean, of course, all the Straw Hats, but I also mean all the villains and even the minor characters! I love the artwork too; every character is completely different. And they are all drawn so cleverly and uniquely! And batshit insane things happen to all of them, hahahha. Oda puts so much thought and creativity into each character, no matter how minor a role they play, so I'm always sad to see ANY character get killed off. Thank goodness that doesn't happen too often.

This is not an "overrated" manga despite it being one of the big three. There is a real reason why it is the best-selling manga in Japan. It's a fantastic series and I urge everyone to try it. Also incredibly quote-worthy and inspirational. I have had many WWLD (What Would Luffy Do?) moments.

Shinyaku Toaru Majutsu no Index review
Madness and Chaos is like gravity, all things eventually move towards them, in a world of absurdity only the bonds that we have can provide a sanctuary from the insanity outside.

That is the nature of "Dispersion" and its counter.

Toaru is one of those LN series that truly have withstood the test of time, Kamachi have truly proven that he is an author with an idea to put to paper, uncaring of what others thought of it.

And here we have the second entry of a possible trilogy.

What can we say about Shinyaku.

That is shattered everything through the reveal of the truth?

That it pushed the world of Toaru further into madness?

That it showed Touma turning from a Seemingly Ideal Hero to a Man who really have seen it all?

The main idea of Shinyaku, I feel is the topic Kamachi have always been about.

The "Absurdity" of the world.

What matters of civilization or consequences, in a world that can't prove it was not recreated a moment ago? destiny shackles all but does that justify all the madness caused in an attempt to destroy it? can it even BE destroyed?

There are no clear person who one is certain to root for, none of the choices are ideal but none seem totally awful either. Perhaps this is why Touma seemingly began to degrade into more and more of a degenerate, who only does the bare minimum to keep the world running.

That there lies the charm of Shinyaku Toaru that caused me to place it in my all time favourite LN. Pure undiluted insanity.

Ambitions interwine, madness consumes all, no one can claim they have the world in their hands, there are no chess masters anymore, for everything have been dragged into the madness, uncertain what fate await them.

Finally, the prophesy is fulfilled. This is the world you wanted, "All man is a star", a world where there is no clear goal of winning or way of stopping it from moving further into madness. Most of all, no one to care enough about doing anything to stop it anymore.

Hoshi no Sabaku: Talsha Night review
To me, Desert of Stars is one of the most beautiful manga that I've had the honor to read. Of course, obviously, it seems that many others do not agree with me.

Though the plot might seem simple, at first, there's really a whole lot more to it. The story isn't just about two warring planets, nor two twins who happen to be caught in the middle of the war. It's about the characters, about how they react and change to the situation. It's about Manami, who feels unwanted. It's about Kenji, who wants to help his sister. It's about Hitoshi. It's about Juou.

The art might seem simple as well, but there really is also a whole lot more to it. The use of negative space and contrast between black and white is excellent. There are many dark and black scenes. There are also many bright and white scenes. Surprisingly, an almost eerie whiteness is used, on occasion, for extremely dramatic, heart-wrenching scenes, rather than black. It provides a different feeling to the page and is wonderfully executed.

This is definitely one instance where the art seems to say more than the words. The characters all have such a variety of expressions and seems to tell us many things in each panel, even without speaking, without words.

For me, this manga was an exquisite work of art. With each rereading, I found myself enjoying it more and more, constantly finding new things that I didn't notice before. But, even after I had the entire volume practically memorized, there was still something about it, something that captured me time and time again.

Desert of Stars is truly beautiful.

Haru-nee ga Boku ni xx Suru Riyuu review
TL:DR at the bottom.

Its kind of difficult to review a manga that only spans 11 (more like 10) chapters. If you binge the series it could take you at most an hour. But, for me the length is find. If you just want to read a quick series before you go to bed, or just for a break this is a pretty descent series. This manga is a lot like Re: maria and Trinity 7. this manga is a harem ecchi series with magic in it.

the main character isn't that good, but that is kind of the norm now in days. The side characters are descent, but a little cliche. but they are still tolerable and ill give it that, but i never really thought they got good un till the end

Honestly the ending (chapter 10) of this manga hits you like a truck, and not because of its short length, but because it changes the entire tone of the manga. The end of the manga felt jarring and honestly that plot twist came out of nowhere. Like the producers of this manga were like "Yeah man were just going to end this series in about 3 chapters, so try to wright an ending ok". While some might think that the ending is funny I just think its interesting.

I enjoyed this manga quite a bit, but this might not be everyone's cup of tea. A lot of people think that the Ecchie is all just skanky unfulfilling porn I do believe it does have potential. Sex is a very taboo subject in American, and may other cultures in the world, and im glad that in this form of Japanese Media i can experience media that is almost unfiltered. While you would be right by saying that a lot and i mean A LOT of ecchi are just pandering garbage, i think this one is a little bit different. This is one of the most accessible manga due to its chapter length, and i guess its premiss. And i do feel like it could be worth your time given the chance.

TL:DR- this is a manga worth you time due to the length and its good plot twist at the end.

ANGEL ONAYAMI SOUDANJO review
Angel Onayami Soudanjo is a manga written by Mizukami Satoshi (known better for Hoshi no Samidare, Sengoku Youko and Spirit Circle) between 2004-2006, it's from his early beginnings as a manga author and it's a light read, the manga being solely a comedy.
It's structured as 11 chapters (with an additional chapter 0 and chapter 0.5) in one single volume, it took me a little over an hour to read it, all chapters have 15 pages roughly, so it's pretty short and easy to read.

The story is very simple, as the synopsis tells you, there's an angel waiting on a bench in the park and if you have some worries you can talk with him and he'll listen. The whole manga is like this, every chapter a random person comes to the bench and asks the angel for advice in every field you can think of, but the hook is that every person has a weird and quirky problem which our angel, who looks like a 40 year old man, has trouble dealing with. At the end of the chapter, the problem is resolved and all are happy.

The manga is supposed to make you laugh, the different characters have funny problems to resolve and the angel and his sidekick, a little angel girl who looks mad all the time, can't seem to relate with them and make funny mistakes. The humor is not in-your-face funny, it has some gags here and there, some funny dialogues, manzai-type humor (basically one character says/does a stupid thing and the other calls out his stupidity, funny man-straight man comedy like Gintama for example where Shinpachi is the straight man), they also break the forth wall from time to time.

I simply read the manga because I am a Mizukami Satoshi fan (before this I read 3 of his works), the comedy made me laugh, but in a "gentle" way, like I said, it's not over-the-top funny or has absurd comedy like Aho Girl or Nichijou, it has its moments but overall it's mediocre.
I enjoyed following the characters' lives changing after they talked with the angels, each one had some sorta problem but at the end of the day (chapter) they managed to resolve it and became better people after it. For example, one guy hates his job, another one hates her former boss, one wants a boyfriend, one is afraid of singing in front of crowds and so on. Even if the problem appears simple, it may become complicated when some out-of-the-blue elements come in. But still, our angels will try to offer good advice to the people without interfering to much in their lives, they may be angels but they aren't magical genies that grant wishes.

The main characters are the old man angel, the little angel girl (yes, they don't have names) and two recurring demons (the demon and underling A) who are just the gag characters, think of them as a not so flashy Team Rocket from Pokemon, their job is to stir up trouble for humans but they're lousy at it, Underling A is a very sexy demon girl but kinda stupid and klutzy, don't expect any panty shots though, she may dress sexy but that's about it, a cleavage is all we get. Some characters from past chapters appear too from time to time.
I liked the characters, they don't seem much interesting or look unique in terms of personality, old man likes to eat ramen and wants to solve the problems in a peaceful way, angel girl is kinda evil looking and glares all the time, she looks like she doesn't wanna be an angel and would love to start a war and kill demons and humans alike but she's ok, she behaves. Expect lots of supernatural stuff too, our angels have a giant sheep which has 777 special powers and they use it from time to time.

The art style is simple, the characters look alright, with realistic proportions and the eyes are not that big, the background is mediocre, it's not the sort of manga you read for the art style.

The episodic nature of the chapters doesn't keep the story from reaching unto a conclusion, we get some sorta ending in the last chapter, it doesn't end just like that, there is some closure, I could say, but don't expect heavy developments or changes. I don't think there was stuff left unwritten by the author, this one volume does its job, there are 15 stories there, more, and the readers would get bored.

I recommend this to all Mizukami fans who want to read works from his early career and to people who enjoy light-hearted comedy in a short episodic format with supernatural elements.

Fukushuu Kyoushitsu review
I really, really enjoyed this manga. By the time I reached the latest chapter -- chapter nine as of currently -- I was nearly bouncing off the wall with adrenaline and demands for more.

Such 'revenge against bullies' type manga often has this effect. Really, it's essentially their purpose. Our hero achieves 'justice' against despicable people and, in the process, makes the readers feel good that 'bad people' get their due punishment and the bullied gets a sense of closure.

Fukushuu Kyoushitsu is exceptionally good at this for a few reasons, but first and foremost is that the main hero, Ayana, uses her smarts rather than a sword to administer justice in a 'reap what you sow' sort of way. That is she often uses the vices of her bullies in order to get them punished.

This is a surprising good method to go about it. To begin, it teaches you what her bullies did to her and, simultaneously, also introduces their method of downfall. From then on, you're left wondering how she will utilize their vice in order to bring them down. It also helps that 'feel good' feeling because you're seeing people sort of bring about their own downfall (even if Ayana does help things along).

The manga does have its flaws. The issue, I think, is that it doesn't weave its subplots well.

For example, shortly after her revenge begins, a series of 'revelations' begin happening. This is expected and normal, but the author doesn't go about it very well. The revelations would have us believe in things that, frankly, seems contradictory/absurd/overly convenient in the context of what happened. If the revelations were to be believe, then had Ayana just waited a week or two, then things would have completely turned around for her. Bullying stopped, possibly a new boyfriend, and etc. Really?

The manga is also building up some other subplots that hasn't gotten far, but it already has that 'conspiracy' vibe going on. It remains to be seen how well the author does it, but I'm not confident so far.

Still, for what it's worth, Fukushuu Kyoushitsu has been a really fun manga to read and I do recommend it. The subplots are enough of a background then that its nonsensical progress won't be a real distraction to the fun of the main plot.
