It is a decent Show and nothing more.
The good things of this show are already said so i will focus on the stuff i hated:

comic relief characters such as major armstrong annoyed me

alphonse cant feel anything because he has no body but he can see even though he has no eyes

they make it clear that it is possible to just transmute gold and the army wont necessarily notice but still its forbidden so everyone behaves, sure thats how people would act ;)

edward can transmute without drawing a circle but he really doesnt use alchemy to its full potential in combat and focuses on this fists

the homuncli could just detain the "precious sacrafices" at any time they want
the pathetic humans acutally never had a chance if not for the arrogant behaviour of the homuncli

"revenge is bad" roy you cant kill envy, why the fuck not?
