Saitama Chainsaw Shoujo review
I was a little disappointed by the story behind this manga which had actually started out so very well. A story about a jilted girl with a chainsaw at school instantly gravitated me towards the manga and while I thought I could figure out how it would end, I was wrong. Usually I would say an unpredictable ending is a good thing and yet in this case, the ending felt disjointed and out of place as though two different people had written separate halves of the story and then stuck them together at the last night.

Story - 4/10

The story behind this manga is probably the real weak point. It started out very well - a girl and her boyfriend and she has a bestfriend who is connected to her soul. Considering that I have read a lot of Higurashi manga, I was excited by this concept and looking forward to the dramatic creepy and gory "slasher" parts but I felt that the plot got lost in itself when it decided to follow a road of aliens.

I think the story may have actually be -more- successful without the strange sci-fi element where the beginning was very enjoyable and was building up so well.

Art - 8/10

The art was well done and it was easy to differentiate between the characters. The bloody-gore scenes were done well but weren't as horrific as maybe they could have been.

Character 6/10

I felt that the characters were the strongest part and I wish they had focused a bit more on them. I particularly loved the best-friend connection between the two girls who had been in past lives together. I felt they could have built on that even more and used it to further the plot as it would have made for a very interesting ending.
The main protagonist perhaps needed a bit more of a thought process to build up to slaughter-time but all in all, she wasn't a terrible character in the end.

Enjoyment - 5/10

Despite it's flaws, I did enjoy reading Saitama Chainsaw Shoujo and read it all in one sitting as it was short. It did feel a little rushed in places and the manga might have benefited from more of a build up and more evidence of the main character's jealously as her decision to get the chainsaw out seemed a little out of the blue when related to her personality.

Overall 5/10

Part of me wonders if this manga was written to satire other manga of its kind. To sort of say 'Hey here's a normal story and now for something completely unrelated...' It doesn't live up to other horror/gore/slasher manga of its kind. However, if it indeed -was- satire, it made it's point well.

Enma no Hanayome to Kimetsukerareta Fukou na Ore no Jinsei Keikaku review
STORY: 7/10
I have teetering feelings regarding the story and for many reasons actually but I'll try to get to them all. So, basic premise and setup, male lead wants to experience a normal high school life. Flip side, he is a strong, demon-like guy that hides behind a geek persona to ensure his plans as a normal student aren't ruined. Nothing unique, some readers are probably familiar with this setup. Then we get introduced to the female lead, who becomes infatuated and does everything in her power to make the male protagonist be with her. Flip side, she is a demon from hell, successor to it's reign and wishes to make the male lead her bride. I'll be damned but this is going to be a fun ride. Sadly, the end was seriously abrupt and ended prematurely. If I had to guess it was given the editorial axe.

ART: 7.25/10
I have no complaints in regard to the art work in this manga. The design for the male protagonist is simple enough to work and the female leads are plenty attractive. Each female is detailed enough and drawn well enough to be distinguishable from each other. Backgrounds were a bit below the character designs in terms of quality, i.e a lot of blank panels or simple textured and toned ones to let the characters shine instead. Though for the action scenes and the few "fight" scenes/moments- they were drawn well and blended with the overall atmosphere of the story.

CHARACTERS: 7.5/10
The absolute selling point of this manga. The supportive characters are pretty much flat and offer nothing much except extra dialogue and minor interactions. The leads however, was superb. Male protagonist Onizaki Teppei was a nice fresh of air for me personally. Despite being a cool, down to earth and capable of kicking ass teenager, he chooses to portray a nerd persona at school. Mitogawa Enma (the "main" female) gets the most spot light and while she definitely portrayed the attitude of a female LEAD, I felt she didn't offer much aside from driving the plot and being the young, wild, carefree "child-like" girl. Another female lead Azuma Shiori is basically your ticking time bomb yandere of the cast, but in a more light-hearted(?) atmosphere. She still has your typical jealously issues and gets the dark, jealousy eyes as she shoots off sharp questions but she definitely provided a good chunk of social interaction. My favorite female though was Takayanagi Yomi as her delinquent persona masking her gentle and shy true self was very enjoyable. The way she reacted and spoke involving Teppei led to many laughs overall.

ENJOYMENT/OVERALL: 7.25/10
The ending left more to be desired to put it nicely, so it really took away from the overall experience that this manga offered. As I mentioned/guessed earlier, the series was probably prematurely ended thus resulting in the rather pathetic ending. Given that, I did enjoy everything prior to the ending. If you want a nice simple read with enjoyable characters in a "harem" setting and don't mind the cliches that much, then by all means- enjoy.

Doll-Kara review
I came In with pessimistic about the chance of me liking this. I thought that this will probably just be some weird ecchi story without much going for It. I was pleasantly proven wrong.

I will admit that this being a 50 or 60-year-old dude Is kind of weird. Even If he was younger by 20 or so years I think It will be all the less kind of creepy or weird. But by the time I caught up with the story I had already forgotten about this part really.

Normally In these types of stories with someone reincarnating Into an already existing girls body ( You'd be surprised how many stories I've seen with a guy's soul being put Into a comatose girls body) I always just feel kind of sad or depressed cause that girl Is dead.

I always liked the Idea that the girl would be like a spirit following the MC In her body and interact with the world like that. I was really and pleasantly surprised that this Is what happens In this story. I do wish we got more of the Original body owner POV.

There Is a surprisingly sad and dark scene showing us the girl go from a nice life to suddenly lose her dad and being 3 Million dollars In debt. With finally her committing suicide. It's a surprisingly sad scene. If It didn't show the girl Is now a ghost than I think I probably would've disliked this story. I do hope by the end she get's her body back or she or the MC finds a different empty body and their soul Is put In theirs. I just hope If that's the case the girl doesn't get put Into a male body.

I do like the cast of character so far or at least I like the cast of female characters so far. I like the friends of the original girl's body. The character designs are nice. I do think that the body of the original girls should have long hair. It seems to short for her design.

We do get some hints at Yuri and I don't really mind If that's the case. End of Chapter 5 there Is a reveal of a woman obsessed with the owner and her body. I'd ship It.

Overall a surpringly good story that I hope gets more attention.

Hatsukoi Shinjuu review
Like arya stark, the main characters of Hatsukoi Shinjuu: "Shinji" and "Koyoko" worship the god of death only(Lol). Hatsukoi Shinjuu is a very thought provoking manga that is deserving of anyone's attention.

Death is certain but why do we live if we know we are going to die" blah blah blah, we live because we know we are going to die". Death is the strongest bond anyone can have with another person, knowing someone will be with you when it is your time to go. These concepts are what drives Shinji and Kokoyo through their unforgettable Journey.

The character progression of all the main characters introduced is just amazing to say the least. (With all the characters) you can tell they are learning from their mistakes and improving on them. They are all brought together through "Death".

From most manga or anime I have watched, it seemed like they always force a romance between two or more specific characters and gladly this manga is a black sheep in the herd. The romance between shinji and koyokyo is so well done and believable. Its one of the romances where you just want them to be happy.

Sadly nothing is perfect and this is clear in the finale. Its not particularly bad its just very vague and confusing. All in all, I honestly loved this manga so much and I think anyone should check Hatsukoi Shinjuu. *and if you do please message me as I would love to have a discussion about this manga!"
