This is truly a masterpiece in every sense of the word. The story, the art, the dialogue, everything is perfect. I loved the film and it's actually my favourite of all time, the manga fleshes so much out a lot more than the film could. Ueno, Miki and Shoya all get more backstory and there's more context for things in the film. My only issue is we didn't get to see Shoya and Shouko in an official relationship at the end, it's heavily implied they're going to face the future together when walking out holding hands, but nothing official. I also am curious if the ending applied Ueno and Miyoko are gay and getting married or... Either way, I got a lot more closure and feel a lot better about the story after reading the manga. I highly recommend it. I got the box collection and really recommend you pick it up as well off of amazon.
