RWBY is an absolute mess.

I feel like ranting in a short-toned manner without having to explain the story, art, or characters is necessary. Rather, my personal enjoyment is sufficient.

RWBY, the original animated Youtube series by Roosterteeth, never should have been serialized for manga. I have no quarrel with a western show being adapted to an eastern medium, it doesn't sit well.
The fact that it only held on for 12 chapters proves testament to that.
The issue with the 'anime' is the stiff CG, an unpalatable sense of character's feelings being suppressed by a throng of CG figures who inherit little to no emotion.
The manga tried to fill this gap and failed miserably. The backstories, the fights, the way the manga looks, it's just a shill of what it could be.

Considering the length is short, it is worth the read. For the train-wreck, of course.
