Shishunki no Iron Maiden review

At first I felt the other two reviews of this manga weren't really helpful, but after checking it myself I sort of understand what they meant. This isn't a bad manga. It has decent art, an original twist to a coming to age story, and the plot seems to have a decent rhythm up to when I left it (and usually if the first 5 or 6 chapters work enough the reader will stay even if he hates it later on). But it's just so boring, there's nothing to hook you in.
As I see it it's a mixture of poorly explaining the stakes in the matter, what would happen if the evil government finds out the main girl's secret, without giving enough space to the childhood friendship/love option of the story. The ecchi is pretty pointless, the guy could be an otaku or just fat and the plot would move more or less the same way; so there isn't anything grabbing your crotch instead of your head.
I like MAL's definition of a 6, it's fine. Pronounced without any joy or interest, just fine, go do your thing.
