Dethrone review

"This is just a shorter Ikkitousen" is what I thought while reading this, it shares alot of the same concepts of it too, with few ideas of it's own.
There's quite a few things I disliked about this Manga. Just a cautionary note as my review contains spoilers.

//Spoilers Likely//

Story: 5

The setting is a School for students who possess the "Dragon Queens Spirit" a fighting enhancer that's past down through generations, ending up with the family member deemed most worthy of it.
The School is the place for these students to test their skills in combat against each other, with the School setting up a Tournament to determine who's the strongest Dragon Queen, and to settle the scores of feuds of generations past.
Freshmen are particularly made unwelcome, with older students participating in "Hunts" (random battles) against them.

The Manga certainly doesn't hang around, as right away Masamune (the MC) is jumped by a sempai. And what an MC with have!, Masamune is (large chested - quite the hindrance, as the loser of one of these bouts has their Dragon Queen Spirit stolen by having their breasts groped!) and dumb, but loves to fight. In one bout Masamune loses her Dragon Queen Spirit, and after moping around for a long time she comes to the realisation that... She can just win it back! Quite the intelligent lass ain't she?, But hey? at least her rack is nice? her ass too (we see them often enough) and yes, this Manga is verrry Ecchi, with lots of low angles, pantyshots and shredded clothing and occasional nudity.

My main gripe is... that's all there is to this - random fights, fanservice, side stories that lead to nowhere, more fanservice and... Ohhh the ending...? the ending felt super rushed, almost as if the Manga was dropped or something, made me super mad and disappointed.

Art: 6

One of the few things this does fairly well... for the womenfolk at least, them having their own distinct looks and beauty with their *ahem* ...assets clearly having extra special attention.

As for the Guys? ...well their distinctive too, but in a different way... they looks like they belong in a different Manga!. Maybe it has to do with the little Male presence in the Manga (the Dragon Queen fighters are all Female) whatever the reason, it's bad.

Characters: 5

Masamune: Large chested (and proud of it too), dumb but brave, has a strange habit of neatly folding her School Sweater before every bout. She's a lousy MC (in my opinion)

Kaori: Masamune's friend and sparring partner. She loves Pro Wrestling, incorporating many of the moves into her combat style. She also is quite trendy, wearing many different headbands, which is a nice touch.

Shion: Masamune's "Master" (although she hates being called that, scolding Masamune everytime she says it) she offers her advice, and is a silent observer.

Mari-Mari: Another of Masamune's friends. She's sure of herself and is hotheaded.

Natsume: Kaori's roommate. It's safe to say that she plays for the Yuri team, taking every advantage to fondle unwary females. She also wears revealing clothing and sexy lingerie.

What little Male characters there are, are mostly creepy jocks, who act as landing pads for airborne Females, but they get a nice view at least.

Enjoyment: 3

Started off good but became super repetitive really quickly. The fight scenes are great, with many different styles on display, but their mostly pointless (especially when comes to the ending) and it just feels too confined.
The characters are generic, nobody stands out as likeable or relatable, but the fanservice was decent at least.

Overall: 3

The heavy emphasis on Ecchi means that this likely won't appeal to everyone. But If you like to see fists & clothing fly, this could be something to check out. Anyone looking for something short to read may be interested in this also, just don't be expecting a masterpiece or anything.
