Beelzebub review

So, I am going to start reviewing my mangas, and this was the first in the list. So, lets start!
I'd like to start mentioning that the main problem with this series is the fighting. It is almost always just Oga punching a guy and him being utterly destroyed. There are some pleasant changes to this here and there, a couple powers presented that are actually interesting, but mostly... it's just a all mighty punch. It loses a bit on this, but if you read this manga has a gag manga instead of a battle one you'll be able to enjoy it to the max.
Story - 8/10
One day our lovely and friendly Oga was washing some clothes in the river when a old man came down the river, opened up and a baby came out. At least it is what he claims. Weirdly enough the fake part is the one you least expect. Yep, Oga is probably the most evil of all shonen main characters and because of that baby Beelzebub decided to become attached to him. That is when a demon maid comes out of nowhere and explains Oga that he must help the baby destroy Earth and if he gets more than 15 meters from the baby he dies. Oh fuck!
Well, that pretty much explains the main plot. It is simple, it is funny and it is the basis for all the story that comes next. Every arc is very entertaining and so far it hasn't lost quality, I would say it has gained actually.

Art - 8/10
There isn't much that I can say. While not the best art out there it's nowhere near ugly and it can get the job done, and when it shines, it shines.

Character - 9/10
Beelzebub is pretty much all about the characters. They are all fun, unique and entertaining. Hilda is a bitch, Oga is everything you would not expect in a shonen hero, Beelzebub is a baby... Well, HE IS! And Furuichi sounds like a character that should belong to a ecchi manga but accidentally was put in there, you'll probably
feel sorry for him, but you'll also laugh at him.
The rest of the gang is interesting and fun too.

Enjoyment -10/10
It doesn't matter if I am down or not, when i read this manga I always end up with a smile. It's one of, if no the most hilarious manga I have read till today. The stories, the characters and the plot twists will all leave you thinking "What the hell just happened and why can't I stop laughing?"

Overall -9/10
For me, it is the most underrated of the Shonen Jump main tittles. it far surpasses Bleach, Naruto or Reborn!
The main problem is mostly the battles, but if you are looking for a manga with colorful powers and amazing battles, although at the end of the day I'd still recommend giving this a try, I would say there are better alternatives out there. If you are looking for a manga that will keep you entertained and with a lot of comedy look no further for you will not regret it!
