Yuu Akabane used to be a plain, shy girl, but she decided to change that when she entered Harumi High School. Now 16 years old, Akabane has her sights set on the "White Prince" of her school, Takumi Shirakawa. But wherever Shirakawa goes, Haruto Kurosaki, the "Black Devil," isn't far behind. Because of Kurosaki's evil glare and bad disposition, no one can even get close to Shirakawa.

One day, as Akabane is moving into the school dormitory, she witnesses Kurosaki threatening another student for accidentally spitting gum in his hair. But when Shirakawa involves himself in the conflict, Akabane fears for his safety. Deciding to take charge, she cuts off Kurosaki's ponytail in an attempt to end the argument. However, all she really ends up doing is giving Kurosaki another target to bully: her. Kurosaki's idea of punishment is unconventional, to say the least, and each time he toys with her, he leaves her heart pounding. Can Akabane break free from the Black Devil and stay true to her feelings for the White Prince? Or will she keep falling for Kurosaki's devilish charms?

I. LOVE. THIS. BOOK. Seriously.
This is definitely a shoujo manga, which means love triangles, love between boy and girl, complications, and (hopefully!!!) a happy ending.
So far, this manga has made my day. I was amidst reading this super depressing manga, but as soon as I just saw this book again, I felt better immediately. It's a pure feel-good book.

So the story is typical for a shoujo, you know boy meets girl because of an event that brings them together... etc etc. But what makes this one outstanding is the characters: they aren't shallow at all.
They're depicted with depth, the girl isn't a cry-baby who gets her way because she's an innocent angel, but she isn't the fearless rebel either. I love her character (VERY RARE). With her you get the best of both worlds, on the outside she's confident, but then you see through her thoughts that she actually second-guesses herself and has some issues. But the best part is NO WHINING! Usually you get the "why did this happen to me? poor me, poor me" self-pity party, but not at all here.
The guy is my perfect guy, he's good looking, cold, sadistic, the whole package, but then through his misguided actions, he slowly understands his feelings for her... There are a few gaps in his character though, I mean for example it feels a bit quick, how fast he puts the moves on her, I would have thought more teasing first, but it only makes the story more enjoyable, and is really the ONLY flaw.

This book is a shoujo/girl must read. I can't stress enough how much I liked it, and if you just want to get lost in a nice romance this book really is right for you. I'm the type to usually get hung up on all the details and how things don't add up, with this manga, I can't even remember any bad moments. It has just the right proportion of romance and teasing moments, without having a sexual focus. If you like (or ADORE like me) Kaichou wa maid-sama, then you will probably love this book as much as I do!!

To all those who like to read about cold, distant, devilishly handsome and perfect main character with sadistic tendencies and a gutsy, strong-willed yet sensitive and caring main heroine, THIS IS THE MOST SUITABLE MANGA TO YOUR TASTE.

This is not your typical shoujo manga of boy-meets-girl, no, They know each other as they're classmates, BUT they get to know each other BETTER after a certain circumstance, and that is our heroine Yuu's transfer to the school dorm where the famous white prince and infamous 'black devil' reside.

The plot is set in school setting and tells about how Yuu sets off with her new self as a high school student, but what drives this story is the characters themselves. The characters have depth and are seen to deal with inner conflicts and external ones as well, and you can see their development through their interactions and can keep track of them, and what's more the story's told in a single person POV mainly our heroine, so what other characters think are left to us readers to speculate or decide but most of the time we get answers from their actions or they are revealed the next chapter right away.

Currently this manga has like 2 'arcs' the first arc ending around chapter 17 where Yuu's confusion with her own feelings have ended and she decided to 'confirm' them. The 2nd arc begins at chapter 18, and things become more exciting.

THIS IS A MUST-READ FOR EVERY SHOUJO FAN (who likes slow-developing romance and do-S main guy) . I can guarantee you will not regret it.

Honestly Team Black Prince all the freaking way!!! Love triangles are just the best and this one is one of my favorite love triangle mangas!

Story 9/10
Kurosaki-kun no Iinari ni Nante Naranai is about a girl who was plain in middle school (honestly she really isn't) decides that her high school life will be different! Upon her adventure through high school, she begins to like the school idol, the white prince, who always hangs out with the black demon, a guy who is rumored to be very dangerous (doesn't really sound that dangerous when I state it), and doesn't like him, hanging with the white prince. A sudden turn happens and her parents decide to move, resulting her to move into the dorms, where the white prince and black demon!!! WHAT IS GOING TO HAPPEN TO HER LOVE LIFE?! Find out by reading the manga!

Art 8/10
The art is somewhat good! You can tell the difference between the characters and some of the romantic scenes are drawn beautifully!

Character 7/10
Gotta say the heroine has some guts! The characters each have different personalities especially my favorite, the black prince, Kurosaki!! Even though he does treat her bad sometimes, he does get jealous (AHHH STUDY GROUP CHAPTER ;D) and he reminds me of a tsundere (kawaii:D). He says she's just entertainment but he still does some things;) to her.

Enjoyment 10/10
You know that feeling you get when you're reading and like some really romantic scene comes up, it comes from the bottom of your stomach and makes you like want to scream and just freak out? No, just me? Well that's what I get from this manga which is the most awsomest feelings you need to get while reading mangas!

Thankxx for reading my review and I hope this helps you read this cause it's really good!

So I started few days ago and I get to vol.6
The beginning was great, totally great of everything, but yes there is huge understandable about main character Akabane, Yuu, like for real person it is totally not natural, you thinking about someone who you like to know more, to make better impression in your head and you doing that, at least normal people do that. In story she Akabane, Yuu is totally in mind, just in mind about black prince Kurosaki, Haruto but when I read about her action to him, it is totally opposite side, what is wrong? why? I don't like it with reading more because she was so about black price, but action just to push hip away far away. This doesn't make me feel as that would be in real life, she Akabane, Yuu, is like, she has eyes but her mind is blind, why? I writing stories but I always try to be as with realistic open mind characters.
After all white prince Shirakawa, Takumi is like evil character, he used Akabane, Yuu, like object, and she is so blind that she didn't notice anything, I don't like that either. White prince should said how bad he was about her, but even in real life are blind mind people and people who doesn't care about others feelings.
Right now only one character who I totally love it here is Black Prince Kurosaki, Haruto. From the beginning to vol. 6 but what will be next I will maybe read it but just because I would like to know more about Black Prince, who is totally open mind, clear with actions, and it is like heart broken when art shows him sad.
Yeah about art, it is great, but happened a few weird like unfinished ends of face of characters.
Over all I don't like it when Akabane, Yuu she get stops of other students or people and saying they have a problem because she was dating someone, who cares, it is her business not others. I don't understand that, because really it is about her not others.
It is really easy to read but about thinking that is one thing and her Akabane, Yuu action it is like take it from another tree story. So this is really pushing me away of reading more. Thanks
