Hida Kizuna possesses the HHG (Heart Hybrid Gear) ability, but it is not strong enough to make him particularly important. His older sister calls him to transfer to a strategic defense school, where many of the students (many of which are large-breasted girls) use their HHG abilities to fight invaders from another world while wearing extremely skimpy pilot outfits. Kizuna's fighting ability doesn't measure up, but his sister has another plan—apparently having erotic experiences with Kizuna will allow the girls to replenish their energy or power-up. It looks like his new school life is going to be full of embarrassment

tl;dr: A solid though short and clearly cut off adaptation.

This manga is an adaptation of a much longer light novel series that was serialized at about the same time as the anime aired. I should note that this review is from the perspective of someone who has already seen the anime, and thus ultimately ends up involving a lot of comparison to it. Ultimately, the core elements are the same, and really the main attraction point is the fanservice. However, there are a number of differences that I think have a pretty major effect.

For one, a significant amount of explanation, scenes, and events were removed in this manga as compared to the anime. However, though this may just be because I'd already seen the anime, but it didn't feel like the loss of these made it any more difficult to understand what was going on or as if things that were important were skipped over, which I suppose goes to show how simple the plot is, at least as far as the manga got. Furthermore, the anime felt like it had pretty slow pacing so it being sped up considerably is a major improvement. The plot in the anime gets a lot more intense and interesting as it approaches its end, but the manga ends before entering that phase with an ending that's even more rushed and clearly cut off as compared to the anime. Thus, the plot of the manga itself is simply some decent world building and an interesting premise that serves well for more character focused stories.

As for characters themselves, similarly to the anime and as is standard in the genre, the girls are the focus and fortunately manage to come through quite well in the stories focused on them, even if they are pretty generic. I should note that the focus on the girls in the manga was higher as compared to the anime with less focus on the protagonist. However, that actually helps considerably because most of what was taken out compared to the anime is scenes with the protagonist being awkward, lame, or overtly melodramatic, but the parts that remain are of him actually being competent. As a result, he seems more useful overall and overall a much better character, though that still only puts him into decent protagonist territory.

The comedy and action are both decent but not exceptional. The art is good in all aspects and not just fanservice like the anime and keeps the same great character and other designs. So all in all, I'd have to say it edges out to being better than the anime for what it does adapt.

If you are here this means it either you came from the anime or just stumbled on this series while digging for some Ecchi light novel.

so here are some cool things that you should know

The anime covered the first arc of the series which focusses on the introduction of the characters and its plot. People most likely hate the show because in the show it is only the ecchi things that are happening, the story isn't that deep yet to compensate the on why they are doing it so I can assume that, that's the reason on why the rating in it is low compared to the novel, but that's just a hypothesis I didn't really factor in the number of people that rated it but anyways.

Now for the actual review for the series

The show is Ecchi Romance first and Action is second, the series is based on "What type of ecchi play the main character will do to defeat the opponent?" instead of "Will the main character defeat the opponent?" and this is what I like about the series, the story starts on the high note in the romance department when they are doing Ecchi things to each other in order to fuel up their mechas that it seems like that's just it and it will probably get stale after a while but the staleness is removed when the author decided to add more characters and deepening the plot to make the relationships of each other mature when the story goes on that it feels like you want more after the series has been finished.

For the story, I will give it a 10 out of 10, the story is boring at first because that's that, it's just setting up the plot of the series but later on, as the plot gets deep and more things got added the more you get hooked on the series, and then you know it you already read 6 volumes of the Light Novel. There is also no boys that are deeply mentioned in the series and that's what I also like about it, having a boy in a series that is based on doing Ecchi things to a girl to fuel their mechas will be awkward and I give props to the author in doing that because in doing so the series will only focus on deepening the relationship of the mc and the girls presented in the series, and not adding like a "friend" that gets jealous over the mc having a ton of girls. The author didn't introduce any deaths in the show and that alone gives the story a good feel. At the end of the show, it turned very wholesome that it's one of the best ending I've seen in a Rom-Ecchi series.

For the art, I'll also give it a 10 out of 10, the effort that has been done to make the Illustrations for the series in bringing out the bad-ass moments and the ecchi moments is so good that you can easily imagine based on the illustrations on what is happening during that specific scene. (also for who is asking, yes the illustrations are censored, sad but they only hideout the "best parts" but they show the great amount of skin that you wouldn't mind the censoring)

For the characters, I'll give it a 9 out of 10, For the characters, you need the wiki for the HxH to be open to know which character is being described because dang, it gets confusing when the series has around 30 girls! that is introduced. I think some of the characters there are just for the quantity and not the quality but the story makes them so that all of the girls introduced got the justification on why they are there anyways.

For the enjoyment of course its a 10 out of 10, Some of the scenes are good in the action department that the suspense is getting into you and the ecchi scenes are so steamy that it makes you want to get it off too but actually didn't.

Overall, its a 10 from me dawg, the plot, character, ecchi scenes, action scenes doesn't feel like a chore reading it but instead you read it because its good, I hope that you will also feel the same as I did while reading this series

Disclaimer: if you don't like incest, S&M play, or any other kind of kinky sex play then you shouldn't read this (it doesn't have ntr though). Though if you can ignore those scenes or they don't bother you (like me), go for it.

FYI: the mc might seem dense and the usual beta mc from the Japanese novels but trust me, this guy is amazing at his "job", just give him until volume 2 or 3 to judge his character.

Review with some spoilers below:
This Light Novel has a generic story where you have a guy with an ability that only women should be able to use, just like in IS: infinite stratos for example, and from there the story revolves around these machines that they can pilot and this energy that they need to be able to pilot them. Said energy can only be recovered through ecchi acts, of course. The plot is actually decent-ish for a harem/ecchi novel and it can be divided into 2 parts:
Volumes 1 through 7 and Volumes 8 through 13. Volume 14 was written later just to tie everything together, which I think it perfectly did.

The 1st 7 volumes talk about AU collisions that were happening on Earth (Lemuria). This collisions connected Lemuria with another world called Atlantis and that obviously caused war and troubles because of various circumstances. We get introduced to 90% of the characters in this long arc and get to know them as the conflict escalates. If you don't enjoy the story up until this point, then I think that you should stop reading, because the arc that coms next isn't that great in my opinion. Though volumes 4 and 5 also had some "weird" (to say the least) things happening that people weren't a fan of.

From volume 8 to 13 the story moves to greater threats and goals and because of that the story gets a bit more serious, not much tho, aside from that at this point the ecchi scenes are also a bit repetitive in my opinion and although it didn't bother me much and I still enjoyed a lot of people were disappointed with them.

I think the author finished the novel quite well, even though if he wanted to, he could probably still make 1 or 2 more volumes.
