I hate shoujo because of this but i guess since i'm not a girl the girly fantasy ain't mine i was more on Livius here (reviewing from his perspective)

Story 4/10(MAL 4= Decent)

Well it is good but bad in many ways up until chapter 95 why? Well until the anime ended it was superb then we have story repeats rinse and repeat OHH NO she was stolen YET AGAIN OHH NO LIVI don't be harsh on my captor (Stockholm syndrome much) to this moment 3 or 4 times (sorry little bit hazzy i'm waiting to binge it though i will regret it). Netorare all over this place hey let's do Netore for a change let's make Nike drink the same pill...you won't well yeah it would not be shoujo then.
I would not call it Decent really but well it's has a well thought through story but it is cringy as a bad serenade for me plus main story repeats are driving me crazy (at least because Nike never learns and Livius ohh great conquer of the world became a shadow of a man in man o sphere he would be regarded as a cuck and would be easily dethroned for being that weak against people who dared to intrude to his private bedchamber(referring to his wife being taken captive)<-- Considering it's patriarchal-medieval society he would get no respect from men considering his age it is already hard and his past achievements would be easily forgotten it is a fantasy nothing more draw a parallel line in reality and this emperor would be easily deposed and this story would end quite quickly with Nike being happy ever after in other mans hands.

Art 8/10

Very good art, quite pleasing to the eyes. Characters are well drawn, background is detailed and beautiful, panels are not confusing and well ordered and speech bubbles are well placed.

Characters 3/10

There definitely is progression, important characters and nice supports BUT.
Progression is regression from emperor to a wimp, Nike is never learning princes that after a while starts to progress in feelings toward Livi but that's about it, she never learns actually. Supports are not so memorable Uncle was a good support, other than that nobody's strikes me as good supports. Villains are villains up to the moment when Livi crushes them and then Nike stops further bloodshed telling do not be cruel be forgiving (3x-4x). Once again in real world it doesn't work like that any top authority HAS TO show som cruelty in order to show that you cannot mess with that Authority heck this story of repeat capture is because of that(guess the author has some common sense).
I understand this is shoujo but fantasy is fantasy, shounen are also unreasonable but as I guy i can relate to some degree here i see Livius being emasculated, cuckolding and etc. this is a horror for many men I cannot write for a female part i did not experience life as a little girl (josei btw for the most part grows up from this stupidity just like seinen but not always).
So character wise it seems all wrong from me too much unnecessary drama because some never learn while others regress....

Enjoyment 2/10 (MAL 2= Dreadful)

It was dreadful starting off from where anime left off some drama is ok but rinse and repeat of the same story with more brutality (meaning ever so closer to popping Nikes cherry and cheating ain't something i would like to experience in my life) This story is like slow moving ram that sometimes stops to view some flowers then again starts moving destroying any masculinity if you empathize with Livius, this girl Nike is cruel even though older she may be but she is too "pure" let the roles be reversed and i doubt that she would react just like Livius.

If i were a little girl maybe this would be a masterpiece if i were a mature woman i would giggle at it while also would be concerned that author has some disturbing fetish in mind. Below would be some spoilers and my rant.
My little boy inside doesn't like this story though also is joyful "I am an Emperor a big guy, who saves his beautiful and older wife who has some adult charm" as a man i pity a boy while despice a girl after 2nd encounter (right after anime) i would heavily penalize other kingdom while divorce Nike in adult world she did something unpleasant while prince (not Livi) did something deserving execution.

Let's say this anime was good, manga and later on was sh&t, attempted rape, capturee and captors light romance, Stockholm syndrome a freaking nightmare this manga tells me that if i was well off tall and handsome i could potentially kidnap any girl and rape her and she would love me after that.....2nd encounter after right where anime left off, she visited a desert kingdom where prince learned about her powers and also took a liking to her decided to lock her up and marry her(if i remember correctly) Livius of course notices that and marches off with an army to destroy him. While Nike has some few flirtatious exchanges with that prince and bam livi destroys that prince (surrounds and the fort and etc.) ok now prince is at his hands.......NOOOOO!!! Nike rushes in be gentle, cruelty is a no go! RINSE A F-in REPEAT a few time even (looked up some spoilers) at the last 3x-4x encounter finally we arrive at attempted rape and would you know it Livius risks his life going solo (without armey) to save this c&%t saves her(looked up this) and she once again begs not to be cruel and forgiving and he was........Next up while writing this review looked up how raw chapters ended well i will try to read till the end but after that i will most likely will drink myself to sleep.
Also in medieval ages if ones wife was captured and locked up with intention of coitus well that was considered a major reason for divorce for female and execution of a perpetrator. If said female would defend the perpetrator that would be counted as the "deed" was done or at least that married woman holds affection for perpetrator more than for her husband. This logic holds till today and it actually LOGIC if my wife would go to her old classmates house and stayed there for week (doubt would arise from within me be it small or big does not matter) To form a solid believe in ones partner is the greatest weakness and greatest gift it does bring many gifts while opens your bare back to be stabbed at any time it is a tough gamble to make since people tend to change their feelings for others in time as for Nike she did not hold much affection for Livius to start with and they were not together for long, many girls dislike younger boys (relationship wise) so by that logic and real medieval logic she should be sent to the monastery after getting divorced but in fantasy world it's ALL a OK any tavern wench can become a princess who went through the hands of all tavern visitors.

Nike became the guardian of something where she was like in another world and time flows differently, yeah they got separated again lol. Livius, I'm not really sure about this, but google translate says he introduced the guardian system to the public, it took him like years for every country to accept it.

anyway, we get a time skip. Livi still waits for Nike. He now has a habit of going to the meadows/ grasslands every day to wait for her. Yeah, he gets to see her again there, where he is now older than Nike. They get married again and we see older Livi. <--- That right here is disturbing MARRIED again, you need to get divorced

I started to watch and read this series by accident and i was too much invested to drop it Men in black where are you?!

And after reading review recently many people share my sentiment never ending captive story begins to annoy everyone even female auditorium (those comments probably were from older female part though) I consider cruelty is needed when dealing with people who are utterly unreasonable and think in animalistic patterns Nike is bitch dog in heat season up to 95 chapter realized it after her 2nd kidnapping, Livius is castrated pack leader.
Be it harsh or not you either crush you love rivals or you abandon your love passion, forgiveness is a privilege not a right if you dare to spit on me you should expect a return as equal or stronger. Ever forgiveness is a privilege for the saints but their life is almost always without power, wealth and with abstinence = all the major reasons for cruelty. Major flaw in this manga in respect to the philosophy i follow. And in christian connotation it is a sin to commit adultery with another mans wife.

My first experince with reading Manga started with this Manga, first I saw the anime, then I couldn't wait to see what will happen, the story itself is new and unique. the art is good, the plot is done perfectly that I feel excited every single chapter. the characters are relevant and cool. I love the fact that the MC (Livi) is so adult minded regardless of his small body. the impact of Nike on him and how he devolpes his charachter and personality grew in me really fast, it's just a beautiful Manga.
I highly recommend it, for beginners too.

At first i was hesitant to read it because the male protagonist was a young boy and the female protagonist was older and the female was taller than the male, i kinda don't like it. But i tried reading the first volume I loved it a lot. I liked how the story developed, i never thought that i'll fall for it like other shoujo mangas i've read before. I love how their love story developed, it was so romantic and i love how Livi treats Nike. I really really recommend this manga to everyone who loves romantic-comedy stories. The characters are so beautiful, the story is not too dragging and i know there's still more exciting moments of it. I really love their exciting love story XD It is so lovely!

Honestly, I usually hate to read ongoing manga because all of the cliffhangers and such, but Soredemo Sekai wa Ustukushii was a must read for me. Here's why:
Story (10)
At first I thought this manga seemed kind of cheesy and suspicious, but I was wrong. You will not find a manga that's even similar to the story. It leaves you on the edge of your seat, waiting to see what happens next. New and interesting characters appear every few chapters, which makes it even more suspenseful.

Characters (9)
Nike- a caring, humble, somewhat masculine and stand-on-top-of-a-twenty-story-building kind of girl. Basically badass. Mangakas always depict princesses as a spoiled and naive, but boy Nike is neither.
Livi- He's supposed to be a kid right? Livi literally can do anything. And he will do anything for Nike, hands down. It's especially funny when he gets jealous.
Neil- He never gets any credit, but deep inside I feel like he's behind the Sun kingdom operations (maybe). He seems calm but when he cracks he gets mad. REALLY mad.

I would definitely recommend this manga to anyone who loves romance with a little fantasy and adventure. It's probably one of my favorites, and if you like it you should watch the anime too!

So, I usually don't read manga. Ever. I prefer anime. I looked on one of those "top romance" lists and found the anime. At first the squick factor was huge for me with this one. All the blurbs refer to him as a child, and Nike as an adult.

I've been reading the scanlations. I skipped over the chapters the anime covered, and continued on. In the translation, it says on his birthday that he was turning 12 or 13. Squick went up. The idea of a 17 year old girl getting sexually attracted to a 12 year old prepubescent boy, just. I can't even. It ruined the story for me. I don't like shota or lolicon.

REST EASY FELLOW SQUICKERS! It turns out that at the beginning of the series, he is 15. I just hope the mangaka lets him grow some more physically. He still looks 12 in the manga. So don't let the "child" idea ruin it for you.

I came from the anime. And reading the manga until the thirtieth chapter I understand perfectly why this work did not have a second season. I don't like shoujos, but this one sold very well in the first arc as something unconventional, more positive, with comedy and a good developement of the characters. However, from the arch of the sand, it became just another generic shoujo and in this theme it is simply not good.

How is a strategist king able to unify the "world" easily manipulated by a woman who can't even tell right from wrong? Yes, this is a cliché recipe for shoujos, so there was no anime adaptation of the second season, because it would just be bad. As of the thirtieth chapter, I read only the concluding chapters of each arc, I no longer attached myself.

A pity, it could have been a lot bigger and maybe stood out, but he opted for "safe". The way they turned Livius into a complete idiot and the repetition of Nike's stupidity spoiled absolutely everything.

Because of that, I can only apologize to those who disagree, but it is my opinion. I hope you will also apologize for my English, it is not my native language.

I have only read a couple chapters, and I really tried to power through more because I loved the anime, but I couldn't get over how ugly the art was. I'm sure the art gets better in later volumes, but I just can't do it. Maybe I'm just not strong enough right now... I'd really like to come back to this manga to get the full story, but for now I'm out.

The anime has actually pretty good animation considering how underrated this series is, so definitely check it out if you haven't. The characters and art look so much better compared to at least the first part of the manga, much more clean and consistent.

Like many people have voiced before, i really dislike on-going manga because i'm really impatient and want to binge read something so i get my dosage. However, again agreeing with most, this manga is the sole exception!
The female protagonist is headstrong, beautiful and funny and Livi ( her vertically challenged king/husband) is hilarious and also sensitive.
The story focuses on nut just the romance but the friendship between the main characters and other characters also. Except there is none of that really annoying - focusing on a side characters story for so long you get sick of them- stuff.
Surprisingly, i don't mind that i have to wait for each chapter and almost enjoy the anticipation (almost!).
If you like shows that are funny, cute and all-round pretty amazing! This is the one!
