Sixteen-year-old Hana Nonomura is forced to be the substitute for her older sister Yukari at a miai: a meeting between two people considering an arranged marriage. Hana's prospective suitor turns out to be the handsome heir of the wealthy Takaba company, Takane Saibara, who is 10 years her senior. He promptly shows disdain toward Hana and, in response, she tells him that she is equally unimpressed by his status and personality.
Hana believes that her actions at the meeting should have put an end to the discussions about marriage with Takane. To her surprise, not only does the man want to proceed with negotiations but he also starts to show interest in her! This is just the beginning of a special relationship between two polar opposites!

Takane to Hana review
In all honesty, I did not expect Takane to Hana to be this good. I expected it to be a pretty decent shoujo among the rest but I was very wrong.
From the synopsis, it is understood that Hana went to her older sister's Miai/omiai with Takane (wedding arrangement) in place of her older sister. Everyone is in the arrangement meeting is unaware that Hana is the wrong person for this arrangement. The story is unique, to say the least. Before reading I assumed that Hana would just be a typical shojo MC where she fawns over the guy and its cliche but that couldn't be farther from the truth. In this story, you won't get a ditzy girl who drools over the coldhearted guy and waits for his approval. I wouldn't even say "Hana has the pants in the relationship" because it's an equal balance of teasing back and forth. You get something so much more satisfying and pleasant over the course of what is currently 79 chapters. It takes a slow approach from the start but gradually gets incredibly more enjoyable to the point I can't even wait for new chapters to release. Each character has an important role in the creation of this story and you will not be dissatisfied with reading this. Once you pass the first 30 chapters everything is just straight bliss. Takane to Hana is the one example of a RomCom that actually doesn't screw it up. I've never laughed harder at any manga in my life. Hopefully, once this manga is nearing its end I will feel exactly the same because even now I have to hold myself back from rereading every chapter. |
Takane to Hana review
I am writing a review for this manga because I recently began reading it and realised that there were no reviews prior to this. This is an enjoyable manga in which a 16 year old high school student is forced to attend a miai instead off her older sister. At the miai she meets an arrogant, narcisistic business man who is 26 years old and is going to be the next head of the company. The meeting occurs in a funny way from the start and their relationship is a humorous love hate relationship. The 2 of them are always teasing each other and share
a lot of comedic moments together with the guy, Takane trying to pull Hana into the luxirous world while Hana lives the life of a commoner.
The art style of this manga is nice and detailed and is easy to follow. Overall I think that this manga is worth a read. |
Takane to Hana review
This series is downright hilarious and definitely not cliche. The main female lead is a professional roaster, and the main male lead is just so nosy and his facial expressions are hilarious! I found myself cracking up every single page. It also breaks the cliche shoujo image of a "couple" and gives a little bit more real perspective to how couples truly act. The storyline is great and the age gap can be odd, but you get used to it and actually find yourself rooting for the main female lead. I'll give it a 10, to show how serious I recommend you read this.

Takane to Hana review
This manga was fun with really cool retorts and many different facial expressions of Takane and Hana. It was just until the first half of the manga.
After that it felt like the story is being dragged with pointless twists. There’s nothing called ‘seriousness’ in this story which is fine. But there are some times where I expected something that’s not funny and the characters take some moments seriously. It’s a gag manga but does not exactly look like one. Hana’s character was the best in the beginning and now it’s the most annoying character. Especially with the pointless plot. Takane’s character has been so constant that I don’t see any character development. The story feels like first half was written by a different author than the second half. The flow totally changed and it’s more boring now. I’m still waiting for something interesting to happen. This is more like me venting about how I wasted hours reading this manga than a review XD Anyways I’d still recommend this manga to everyone who loves gags and shoujo. The age gap is not weird at all in here and it’s still fun reading it if you don’t realize that it’s being dragged. |
Takane to Hana review
Surprisingly not a dumb story and is one of my favorite manga's i'v read in recent time.
I came in expecting dumb plot and 1 note cliched characters. But the two Main Characters in this are really awesome together. The designs is nice and the comedic timing is also pretty great. ~~SPOILERS~~ The only complaint i have happened at the current chapter ( 31-32) The grandfather taking away all the money is stupid and even the money that the guy earned himself. Also him having to live in a run down apartment and even working much lower place in his work. ~~SPOILERS~~ Great story that i'm not wanting to spoil much. |
Takane to Hana review
Everytime i reading this manga it have made me either laughing like a madman or suppressed the laughter using pillow. it was so damn funny especially the early part of manga between Takane and Hana. Takane the typical rich conglomerate is narcissistic usually but also an attention seeker ,always to show his best side to Hana to make her forfeit by admitting her feeling to him ,in meantime Hana the miai partner is the normal schoolgirl who using blunt remark and takane weakness as her weapon to make him fall in love with her. So the problem is? Both are thick headed and tsunderes And...
the age gap i guess?....Nonetheless it makes the manga entertaining as the two fight verbally to make each other admit their feeling while learning to be honest to themselves.
