Fairy Tail review
I cant believe that for 8 years of my life a series had captivated me so much even thou it was not a masterpiece and have some obvious flaws. Even thou it was not well received and is not considered to be comparable with more famous and renowned works. Even thou the plot armor was so thick and the power of friendship always kicks ass. Even thou alot of people makes fun of it and labels it as "bad". Even thou it was sometimes "bad".

It still able to entice me to ride along its roller coaster ride. To go along its high ups and the bottommost downs. To tag along to its adventures.

Well it was not about the action. It was not about the conflict. It was not about the story. It was not about characters. It was not about the art and setting.

It was about the guild. It was about a place you could belong. Its was about the concept of family.

But a friend that will give their all to help you and is willing to offer their life for you is obviously fiction and can never be real. But still as conflicted humans we still seek that level of acceptance and comradery. And Fairy Tail somehow gives off the feeling of being around people that you could trust your life with, people that in thick and thin will be always there for you.

"You can't appreciate something until it's gone"

Fairy Tail has ended but I can still remember the time, 8 years ago, when Natsu reach out his hand inviting me to an adventure. I wished that I could take his hand and join them on their journey. I wish that I could see their travels ones again.

Fairy Tail was good, its fine. It was not the best. There are alot better.

But still... it was a shit tones of fun!!

Fairy Tail review
My first shōnen but not the best

Fairy Tail my first manga... I was fascinated by this magical medieval universe and then I discovered other shōnens like Hunter X Hunter and so I became more demanding.

Fairy Tail has everything to be appealing: a well-constructed universe, a nice drawing (even if the breasts tend to become more and more opulent but that is how it works), atypical characters, diversified powers with classics that we all love (fire, water, lightning) and yet...

The power of nakama is not enough!
The beginning may be a little too childish but the story, which focuses above all on friendship, becomes more intense. However this is not enough, the power of nakama is no longer enough in my case.

The same mechanics over and over again
Then why is Fairy Tail so disappointing? It's because of the mechanics.
Hiro Mashima, with all due respect, you've locked yourself into the same mechanics: bad guys often devoted to Zeref appear, they look mean, dreadful, badass! You managed to build a palpable tension, we waited for the next chapter with impatience to finally be disappointed with short fights often reduced to a last minute power-up of Natsu or Erza (except her fight against Midnight).

The main character Natsu Dragneel
He is generous, funny (from time to time), he possesses a great power: fire combined with the magic of the dragon slayer. We could expect exceptional and breathless fights but all we can see are the same attacks with small variants but well.... A grandiose power wasted by useless power-ups whose goal is to show the villain that the power nakama is stronger than anything... Hum… I think after ALL THIS TIME it became boring. Remember that the manga began in 2006 and ended in 2017. It was published during 11 years, we waited something different Mashima sensei. And I say "we" because I had been following Fairy Tail for years, chapter after chapter, week after week, looking at the reviews, theories, etc. I have never seen so much hope and therefore so much disappointment from the fans. The manga works very well in France but when we compare the fights with Hunter X Hunter, Jojo and even Naruto in his best years... We can be quite intrigued by the high popularity of Fairy Tail...

The tension
Yes there is tension, interesting twists but so badly exploited. And yet every week the fans and I had this incessant hope that no, the mangaka wouldn't spoil all the tension he built through weeks, months and even years because yes, Hiro Mahsima thought his story, he worked on it year after year. But by repeating the same mechanics over and over again, promoting the power of nakama and not wanting to kill ANY character:

(yes Simon was killed but we all know that is was also to delay the inevitable: I'm talking about JERZA of course).

If Hiro Mashima doesn't want to kill any character unlike his previous work "Rave", it's up to him. One Piece does not generate as much frustration while in the end we count only a "significant" death. The problem is that Hiro Mashima builds a tension that leads us to think that the character is going to die. Because all the elements are there: the character has no escape. The last arc was C.A.T.A.S.T.R.O.P.H.I.C, we believed it though, we believed it... Halalala I think Fairy Tail is by far the most frustrating manga I read. So much potential wasted over and over again.

What about the love stories?
The love stories are well developed throughout the story unlike Bleach or Naruto. We thought that the end would be the same as his friends shōnens and yet... If there is a manga where we would have accepted an ending like that it was Fairy Tail and in the end... No... What can I say?

In summary
I think the majority share that frustration. I hope that his next manga – Edens Zero - will be different...

Fairy Tail review
This review contains no spoilers and is targeted to people wanting to read the last arc of fairy tail, which is after the Tartaros arc and thus ends the series.

I have to say that I am extremely disappointed with the last arc and I think you will be too. I liked fairy tail from the start, I knew it wasn't a great anime but it was enjoyable with good comedy, funny characters and the story was kinda interesting (although it didn't focus so much at it from the start) with bad fights (power of friendship). The part that I liked most about fairy tail was the change of path that the villains took, after realizing that hey have been walking on the wrong path and the life lessons that we learnt throughout the series.

After the awesomeness that the Tartaros arc was, I had extremely high hopes for the last arc, and at the start I thought that it would really be epic but the real problems start about halfway of the arc.

Story: The story was getting pretty interesting because everything started getting connected from previous arcs to this one and I was pretty impressed by Mashima, because he had thought some things pretty cleverly, but the problem is how he tried to put all those things into action which resulted into a huge mess. Major plot holes and plot armor in some cases, just for Mashima's convenience, and things kept happening without any logical explanation and completely out of the character's reach which I will explain in the fight section. Also, there were a lot of cliffhangers and bullshit moments with a lot of hype that lead to nowhere, just so people would buy the next volume, just to be utterly disappointed.

Characters: The characters play a big part in how the story of this arc was made a complete mess, and some of them were really interesting but the had such a poor and bad development. Many fake deaths just to create hype around every scene that would lead to eventually a big nothing, yes nothing I am not kidding you, either nothing happens or something that was nowhere even close to the hype that was originally build up.

Fights: I just have to include it, because it's a big reason why this arc failed. Half of the fights don't even make sense, because the power gap between the characters is just too big and the way the end is so tilting and unsatisfying. Furthermore, I would like to add that Mashima is a big fan of the one punch man and it is clearly shown by the way some major fights end, which makes you think that Mashima from some point of the arc stopped caring about the series as a whole and did whatever he could in order to not exhaust himself.

Art: The art hasn't changed and remain good.

Enjoyment: If I could describe my experience with one word, it would be disappointment, because an enjoyable series went so downhill in such a short amount of time. I would advice against reading the manga or even watching the anime that is announced to come in 2018, but if you want to see the anime or read the manga, just prepare to be disappointed, but that;s for yourself to decide.

Fairy Tail review
Fairy Tail isnt something new or original but it is to an extent quite exciting,it has a great amount of faults which most other reviews have already pointed out but most of them are problems with the shonen genre as a whole and not just fairy tail so it would be unfair for me to point those out here but fairy tail's biggest flaw might be how much it uses the friendship trope as well as the weak motivations of villains and the unnecessarily large cast of characters most of whom are forgettable but there are quite a few more characters worth remembering than people give this manga credit for and many of the relationships between characters are genuinely heartwarming particularly one you will see near the end game involving a certain dark wizard and his lover.
the author also writes characters backstories quite well as the flashbacks are kinda the best part of the series along with the aforementioned relationships and th female characters who are better than the male characters by the greatest margin ive seen in a shonen like this while the main characer lucy isnt anything special she isnt annoying either, erza scarlet is probably the coolest and most likeable badass female character in manga and there are more characters worth remembering like juwia and mirajane who are both genuinely funny and interesting.
the best time for you to read fairy tail would be either in your early teens or when you crave a long story that doesnt give you too much food for thought but plenty of fun, action, comedy and fanservice.
but still its best you take off your plot hole searching glasses for this one because once you do despite all its flaws its one fun ride.

Fairy Tail review
Seriously i don't hate it in fact i really, really like his other manga Rave Master... But why he make a very dreadful series like this...

One manga despite it's flaw and cliche is one of the best shonen manga out there with Yu Yu Hakusho and One Piece and the other is... well the worst shonen manga out there that only famous because of fanservices...

Well, let's start the review then.

Fairy Tail biggest flaw first is Natsu Dragnel himself. So apparently his first objective is to meet his father-dragon, but why the F*CK he didn't do anything! I mean Haru did a well job to find all Rave and why the hell this guy didn't do anything remotely to find his father and just doing silly job in his Guild! I know, I know that with a manga like One Piece you can't make something like this easily, but hey! Magico is doing that and it's pretty well good. So it's not a silly reason to not do that, right?

For art well it's really good. It's like a better version of Rave although i noticed that his background become really lazy sometimes, but hey! compare to Kubo's background it's nothing.

For character it's easily one of the worst with the most decent one is Acnologia and Makarov. All rest are nothing. Natsu, Lucy, Gray, Happy and Erza can't handle a candle with Haru and co. The antagonists also can't make a badass moment like Doryu or King. Main characters aside, but come on! Rave main selling is it's villain and i don't understand. Mashima-sensei can make a good villain in Rave why the hell he can't make one now.

Last, but not least... It's Power of Friendship/Love that Mashima took from Rave's most badass battle Haru vs Shiba. He really ruined it into crap.

So to put it simple, Fairy Tail is not that good and i don't understand why Hiro Mashima the creator of Rave can make this crap.

Fairy Tail review
Fairy Tail! A manga that get's so much hate but so much love at the same time, does it really deserve both? It certainly does!

Fairy Tail is one of my first anime/mangas and I think that it makes me qualified to judge this series without me being a complete hater or a complete fanboy. Let's get on with this review!

Story: 3/10
Something that started out really well but ended dreadfully. Fairy Tail had a magic to it's world and story, nothing to spectacular but it was something that fantasy and shounen lovers loved. The first few arc's were very well done and introduced some great characters. Each of their arcs were well thought out and executed well.

It was never to dark for it's own good, it had a positive and good feel vibe all around, but what went wrong? The story direction and writing.

Here is the thing, the author (Hiro Mashima) had some great Idea's about each arc, the problem was how he executed them. It was all a mess, each character is pitched against an opponent. The opponent is to much for the character to handle, so what does he do? Yes, what he does is that he gives us the same old speach about how important friends are
(The infamous Nakama) and how they give him/her strenght. And that ladies and gentlemen is how every damn villian from a point on in the manga falls. No jok.

It was clear Hiro Mashima didn't know where to go, it was sad as the story began so wonderfully!

Art: 9/10

No questions asked, the art is beautiful. Some panels left me staring at the because the picture seemed alive. The world was blooming with wonders and the characters expressions were clear as day light. Mashima's art is simply beautiful.

Nothing more to say, if you're anime watcher who don't read manga often, It will be very easy for you to switch to this manga as the art is something welcoming and alot like the actual anime.

Characters: 5/10

So here is the thing, the all of the characters of Fairy Tail are unique and memorable. Which is something hard to pull off because of how large the cast is. Alot of backstories are tearjerking and well written. So once again what is the problem here?

The direction is once again the problem. Let's take Natsu Dragneel for example. He's the strong fire dragon slayer with a fiery attitude, your typical shounen male MC. At one point he faces of against the stronges mage in the guild who is called Gildarts. Gildarts uses his raw power to frighten Natsu, the point of this is to teach Natsu about the importance to know your own limit and back off at times, which is a very valid point. Natsu starts crying for the first time and seems to understand what Gildarts just taught him. BUT NO!!! The leasson he was tought NEVER once crosses his mind again in the series as he jumps into fight's as he has always done.

Erza is another character who I loved so much, but became trash and predictable. Repeating the same lesson about "Nakama" every damn fight. And that never changes, the only character that truly changed and get's alot of hate for some reason is the main MC of Fairy Tail. She is at the beginning someone weak and fragile that tries to run away from her problems. At the end she isn't afraid anymore and tries to help her friends instead, facing her own fears head on, standing on her own 2 feet. Heck she even saved the whole guild (and technically the whole world) during the Tartarous arc by sacrificing her first zodiac key.

They're all have solid designs and everything and are very good at the beginning, but their progression is boring and bad. Lucy was good though, and she get's unnecessary hate.

Enjoyment: 7/10 Overall: 6/10

So despite so all of the problems the manga was good at some points, and when it was it was very enjoyable. The first season of the anime is something I can rewatch alot of times because I find it so enjoyable. It turns shite later on and not just shit, the last arc is pure garbage.

But it's still a manga that brought me alot of joy and brought joy to millions of people around the world. Fairy Tail has something that unifies it's fans in a stange way which is something awesome to be a part of. Unless you're a shipper cause the shipping wars can get ugly!

Overall a manga that I used to say is one of my favorites and had alot of potential, but like many other "BIG" managas these past years turned bad at the end.

Sad end to a manga that I will always remember! Sayonara, Fairy Tail!

Fairy Tail review
Today I will do a review on Fairy Tail and neglect my studies as I usually am, so I hope you enjoy a shitty, yet possibly good review.
This review contains slight spoilers, but it shouldn't affect the series.
This is going to be a pro and con type of review, but not much detail so be prepared since it should be a good enough reason NOT to read it.
Pros of this manga:
The art in the beginning somewhat copies One Piece's special artwork, but then gradually leans torwards it's own unique art which is actually good, since all mangaka should be like that.

The characters I will say, are actually not that bad.
When you have a bunch of great characters bundled together, you'd naturally think it'd be good. We have the good ol' protagonist that will go to hell and back to protect his allies (which we've always seen a lot) Erza a woman that is strong and shows no weakness, Lucy the normal fan service girl showing tits every chapter (or later on), etc.

Cons:

While it has good characters, they don't change. They just stay. Nothing else.
Character development? Nope.

The main character is always OP as hell and NEVER loses a single battle. The good 'ol cliche of YOU-GAY-HOE (Yu-Gi-Oh). And when he does (finally) even in a condition he shouldn't be able to win, he does. With no other powers, just using the same ones he used earlier, but doing even less still managing to win.
The 'power' of friendship is heavily implied here so bronies might actually like this manga.
The plot: The plot? You kidding? There is none.
The average error of shounen manga is that every arc is generally the same with no goal in mind. Fairy Tail is this: >bad guy shows up>wins. And repeat it all. And if he does lose, he wins anyways in an even weaker state. -_-
He also always 'suddenly' managed to get power ups, even on his own.
The arcs: this is aimed torwards toe ENDING of them. Every single enemy becomes a friend. Every.single.one. They even managed to turn Gajeel (one of the most badass characters possible) into a person that acts like a baby around almost anything now.

This definitely was a shitty review, but it should be good enough not to read it and waste your time reading it, when you could've worked on your educaiton, or just read a better manga instead.

Fairy Tail review
Fairy Tail, a manga with great plot (both kinds). A manga which started off with such great potential. Now let me tell you about this manga and how it plummeted to the ground.

Story:

The plot of the manga for each arc was simply amazing. It was a well thought up idea. The scenarios that the guild were placed in were pretty good. The execution of this said plot was also amazing. The finisher however, is another thing. It's a huge disappointment to me. This finisher was carried through the majority of the manga. Here is how I can summarize the story of this manga.

One guild member has been caught in a horrible situation that leaves you so interested and wanting to read more about it --> Guild members try to show up but then a surprise for them also arises, making the scenario even more interesting, leaving you wanting to know more about how Fairy Tail can overcome this problem --> The magical power of friendship is used and all is solved --> Repeat.

The reason why I had put a rating of 9 for story is because the story of each arc had really interested me. The only thing that ever ruined this manga for me is the extreme focus on the power of friendship.

If you're into this sort of thing, I recommend reading. If not, turn away and back out before it's too late, you'll be left with disappointment thinking it would change each arc.

Art:

The art is what you'd expect from action based manga. I'm not very critical about art so there's not much to be said here. I personally liked it.

Character:

I feel that the characters have been introduced very well. We've had explanations and some lore on a majority of the main characters and new characters with a large role that were introduced in later volumes. The character development was also very good, seeing how they changed over time after certain events had occurred.

Enjoyment:

Eh, enjoyed the plot, hated the finishers.

Overall:

If you like the concept of friendship > godlike powers, this manga is for you.

Fairy Tail review
Fairy Tail. It's very similar to One Piece, with "nakama" and some of the character designs looking quite similar (in fact, one could say some designs are plagiarised *cough*Gildartz*cough*) to One Piece and therefore is often compared to it. However, it's nowhere near as good as One Piece; don't get me wrong, it's a somewhat okay series, but it is let down by its story.

The art in this manga is good with excessive amounts of fanservice which I am not personally too fond of but I'm sure it'll appeal to a lot of its target audience (presumably heterosexual males). Still, it ranks only as "good" and is by no means exceptional.

The story is where this manga really fails. Fairy Tail has never had much of an engaging plot, but that's understandable, considering it is mainstream battle shounen. However, something that really annoys me is the use of deus ex machina in order for the characters to escape difficult situations as opposed to more inventive solutions. For example, in one of the recent arcs the big bad was defeated through "the power of friendship", which is a concept which might have some appeal to five year-olds, but unfortunately I'm not five. There are plenty more examples of deus ex machina in this series but I don't want to spoil anymore of it.

The characters are typical mainstream shounen characters. I don't have any real complaints except for Natsu, the main character. His character has received zero development over the course of the 200+ chapters that FT has ran for so far. Despite him apparently learning an important life lesson about how one cannot always win during a battle with someone who far outclasses him, a few chapters later he seems to have forgotten and is back to his old, egoistical self, jumping in, thinking he can protect everything and completely ignoring the orders of his master. If this was any other manga, there'd be dire consequences. Unfortunately in Fairy Tail Natsu always wins and it is always he who defeats the enemies through THE POWER OF FRIENDSHIP- yeah no.

Overall, Fairy Tail is enjoyable, but only if you don't take it seriously at all, pay no attention to the plot and just look at the pictures and watch the fight and comedy scenes. Even then, the fights are wholly unsatisfying because of how they end (again, with Natsu always winning through THE POWER OF FRIENDSHIP or deus ex machina of another kind). In all honesty, I'd recommend steering clear of this series entirely or just reading it for the aforementioned scenes.

Fairy Tail review
for anyone looking for an enjoyable long running fantasy manga i'd definitely refer them to Fairy Tail. Fairy tail is a manga that even though it's not perfect i still find myself re-reading old chapter when i'm bored with nothing else to do.
The story which takes place in the fictional country of Fiore with our four main characters natsu, lucy, gray, and erza though the two that get the most focus are probably natsu and lucy. as for the story of the manga i feel that each the the first few arcs do a good enough job of showing off the back stories of the main characters when their pasts somehow relate to the current foe they are facing in that arc all except for natsu who we don't any back story from the time before he joined the guild except for the fact that he was abandoned by the dragon that served as his parental figure and taught him his magic. then the arcs start getting longer and that's when alot of people start getting mixed feeling about the series as a whole main due to a majority of the fights being won due to the power of friendship where the characters, mainly natsu or erza will feel empowered due the their overwhelming desire to fight to protect their friends resulting in them sometimes getting what are known as "nakama power ups" that being said the story in itself is still enjoyable to sit back and relax while reading though if your looking for something a bit more intense you might try looking somewhere else.
for the characters themselves thought we don't see much development in the begging aside from their initial back stories but i can say for those who believe that fairy tail has no character development i'd say to look as some of the recently released chapters of the manga like say 377-386 because there are some characters in that currently running arc that have shown major improvement in their fights compared to what their strengths were before and i can only hope that Hiro Mashima keeps this trend for arcs to come because it has made the current arc as of this review one of the most enjoyable yet.
lastly the art in this manga is fantastic.
The style of the art in the early chapters may resemble some of the art styles in anime like One Piece or Hiro Mashima's previous work rave master but the quality of the art has improved dramatically since then making every scene gorgeously drawn only adding to my overall enjoyment of this manga which as i said is highly enjoyable to begin with. so overall i give this anime a 9/10 its not perfect because it definitely has its fair share of flaws here and their but still a great manga experience i would recommend to anybody interested in the fantasy genre.

Fairy Tail review
Hmm... let me get this straight. Fairy tail has quite good premise. The fantasy world where almost everyone can use magic, mages guild that consists of whacky, reckless, and have bonds just like family. It might be quite cliche, but almost everyone inside the fairy tail guild have kinda broad personalities and different physical characteristics. The story starts off rather common, which is good VS evil type situation. The main characters are almost good-to-the-core type. This is not a problem if the author can maintain a good flow of storyline alongside character developments. Now, this is where real problem started to emerge.

At first several chapters of this series, it was kinda interesting to see how the world looks like, character interactions, the fight against the evil mages and guilds. The MC (main characters) started out by taking easier quest, then they fought against weaker force of evil, and then they took more powerful evil forces. The story has started to get stale when the author kept on using the same formula (fairy tail guild took on the evil forces, they got beaten up, rise up, and punched out the evil). At first, i became quite bored with the repeated use of this formula, but not enough to drive me out of this series.

The problem did not lie in the story flow alone, the character development was also the issue i had. The characters (mostly the good guys) are your typical friendship-is-power i-dont-need-training-to-defeat-my enemies. They literally ALMOST never train, yet they still owned the evil forces. Oh, and the character had almost no development, except for their power. The art was good, but it did not really grow throughout the story. The female looks all the same, and the male too, with the exception of some buff, obese, and out-of-the-world characters. It was clear that the author did not have the skill to make distinct looks without relying on the hairstyle, hair color, and outfit.

MINOR SPOILER FROM THIS SECTION!
I kept on waiting for the author to use different plot progression, but it seemed that i was wrong. The author were not really creative, so he had to pushing the same story, only with different enemies. The only time where i got entertained after lots and lots of boring arcs was when they go to edolas and meet their alternate selves. The 7-year time skip was quite refreshing and also the tournament that soon followed up. Unfortunately, when the tournament arc was over, the story became boring again. At that point, i convinced myself that i needed to drop this series, and so i was.

So, to conclude my journey of reading this linear manga, i gave a total score of 3/10
