Bloody Kiss, a manga that involves the progressing life of a young woman who lives with some vampires; a dangerous yet strange situation at the same time.

basically this was how I rated this work:

[Story - 9]
It was a storyline that I've never seen nor read about. Life with vampires. It was a brilliant idea, putting a sort of monster amongst the race that called them 'monsters' in the first place. In all honesty, I liked it. It was a slice-of-life kind of book but it had certain twists that made it a little bit more interesting than most.

[Art - 10]
The art. The author had a sort of style that made the expressions easy for me to read and understand. The book itself was in neat organization with clean panels that allow the reader to fully absorb the visuals in short time. Personally, the character designs were top-notch.

[Character - 9]
The characters were interesting. They drew me in along with the storyline and made the situation's mood either comical, serious, or romantic despite the fact that there were some cliche personalities often seen in most romance manga.

[Overall - 10]
I give Bloody Kiss a solid 10 overall. A good solid storyline followed up with excellent art with attention drawing characters. Bloody Kiss has earned my applause and an encore.

Bloody Kiss was very romantic, but at the same time, funny! Kiyo's and Kuroboshi's love throughout the book can make a manga fan keep flipping pages. Bloody Kiss was enjoying to awe and laugh,and the dialogue was really unpredictable and cute.The manga was funny with the main character's love being always interrupted, and it was always cute when the atmosphere hit romance.

Wow. For me, after I finish reading something, i have an extreme urge to tell people what I think of it, even if nobody really listens. I just have to, it makes me feel better. Any one else get that feeling?

Anyways, I thought this was such a lovely story. Yes. Lovely. Very romantic, and I LOVED the art for this manga. It was beautiful!! I dont think anyone can disagree with that. The art just gave the story such a touching quality.

The characters reactions were predictable, but realistic. Yeah, if someone was biting my neck, I'd be very uncomfortable too. But the plot was quite engaging, and i must say, I really looked forward to reading this every day. After school, I go to the computer first thing and start eagerly reading. It was an addiction.

I REALLY wish this manga could have gone on longer! I really liked it, and if it were longer it would have developed into something even more delightful and i definitely would have kept reading it.

But I do look forward to re-reading it soon! Overall, a touching romantic story with drop-dead gorgeous art. AND vampires. Sweeeeeeet.

As a fan of the vampire genre and cute bishies, I can honestly say that Bloody Kiss is terrible. The concept of the story is average, but the lack of crucial plot information destroys the story. Bloody Kiss begins with a cute orphan girl who recieves a rundown estate from her unknown grandmother, where two vampires are living. Never once does the girl ask about her grandmother and get to know about her, nor does she ever question if vampires really exist or if it safe living with them. It is never mentioned if this is a world in which vampires are known to exist or if they are something of legend. This adds confusion to the storyline and is never satisfactorily addressed.

Art: 7 Not the best I have ever seen, but some of the panels are very pretty. The roses are very detailed and beautiful. The characters and backgrounds are above average, but there is not enough expression or detail to give it a higher score.

Characters: 3 My main problem with the story is the lack of common sense of the heroine. She decides to live in the estate, which is three hours away from her school, commuting everyday by bike. Along with going to school, she works part time to support the free loading vampires. Kiyo fails as any sort of feminist heroine. The male leads are good looking, but predictable and boring. I honestly can not remember one outstanding or memorable characteristic of any of the characters.

Enjoyment: 3 It feels like the mangaka didn't have an editor. The lack of consistency in the plot is comical. How is Kiyo (the heroine) an honor's scholarship student, yet she has bad grades. Why is it that in one scene Kuroboshi drinks Kiyo's blood and pulls away without any blood on his lips nor bite marks on Kiyo? Then, two panels later, the blood mysteriously appears along with the bite marks. Even with all these faults, the manga is an easy read. It has decent flow (most of the time) and gives you just enough enjoyment that you hope the quality of the story will get better in the next chapter. It never does.

Overall: 3 Unfortunately, the story was unable to pull off the cliched plot. This, the lack of clear direction, unclear plot, and lack of common sense harmed the potential of the story.

I would not recommend reading Bloody Kiss, but the extra stories were surprisingly good. Angel Koiuta is slightly above average but very cute. Kyuuketsuki no Onegai can be called the gem of the series. The plot was original and the characters developed during a short time. I would definately recommend checking out Kyuuketsuki no Onegai.

Predictable and boring from the very begining.

No plot twists. No character development. The art is pretty good though.

I found myself rushing trough the pages hoping that it whould end soon so I could just move on to the next manga.
It whould probably do good as a general romance/comedy anime, tough...

I don't suggest this manga even if it's just to kill some time. Unless you're a fool for romance, you'll be bored to death.

Reading the positive reviews here makes me think there might be some translation error or mistaken presentation in the OneManga version I've read to make me think think this poorly of this series.

That said, I'm not really the type to read subjects relating to women dating vampires, it's just that OneManga shutting down made me want to click on the Surprise Me button and this is what I got. (Prior to this I wasn't a heavy OneManga reader so I thought I'd maximize the few manga I haven't discovered.)

One thing I would have to say though, Twilight changed every impression I had for this genre.

It used to be that I would review these kinds of plots as rambling and all over the place and lacking in anything that would make me be interested to read it to the end but when you combine the painful elements of that popular novel, a manga like this seems like a more soulful parody of the whole thing and it makes it tolerable - not because it stands as one of the best parody done on the vampire dating subject but because regardless of the quality, at least these type of manga feel like the characters matter to each other and rather than prose upon prose of heavily laden non-sensical events: at least a manga is shorter, more laden with visuals and thus the whole thing feels less like a worthless read compared to everything out there dealing with this plot premise.
