Sagara Masamune is a manga author who isn't very successful, and it's looking like it's time to end his battle manga. To go for an unexpected ending, he plans to kill off the main heroine, Nina, in a dramatic way. As he works on his manga, he is mysteriously sucked into the pages. Now he's trapped in the world of his own creation, with his protagonists, exorcists Haru and Nina. He doesn't really get what's happening, but he thinks concluding the manga, which involves orchestrating Nina's death, might get him back home.

It started off pretty interesting, with the whole set up and attempt to stage a dramatic death and all, as well as the MC's thoughts on his own manga as he goes along.

Characters are all fairly stereotypical, but that's fine considering that its part of the whole premise the story is based on.

But honestly, what really prompted me to write a review was the ending, where things like the responses of manga readers, editors and such were brought up, and the last couple chapters in particular, where (minor spoiler) he's working on the final chapter of his work before he gains the resolve to create the ending he truly wants for himself, and his characters.

It was here where I actually felt that there was actually a intent, a message behind this whole manga. Put simply, I saw it as a representation of the internal conflict of authors as they choose between pandering to their audience, writing something they enjoy, and interpreting their editors advice. And on that note, this part actually reminded me of that "Re:Creators" anime a while back in that sense... But since this came out first, it'd be the other way around, haha...

Now granted, I'm not an expert in this industry, and that it is simply my own interpretation of the manga, so I might be seeing something where there's nothing, but even so, it was enough to prompt a review from me. Even if it wasn't a profoundly deep message or anything like that.

And then there was that typical cliche romance(?) thrown in as well. But I feel that more veered towards simple authorial love rather than romantic love for the characters towards the end as well, which is well, fine by me, but honestly, I wouldn't have minded either way...

Perhaps the best part of the manga was how the MC interacted with his creations, and his inner monologue as he plots and attempts to put those schemes into action, but again, that kinda falls off towards the end...

Overall, the story was quite chaotic, especially towards the end, but whether it was intentional or not, I have no idea, considering the plot with the editor and all... But the execution of the whole thing could've certainly been done better, especially the ending, which was rather... abrupt... to say the least But it was enough for me and pretty much fit the series, although it was probably not satisfactory for everyone. The manga is nothing amazing, but nonetheless, I did enjoy it.

Story:
this manga can seem messy, but it is mostly intentionally made to be that way. It's made with imperfection as one of its main theme and it is self aware that the story it has isn't great and or perfect by any means. I think it is rather well thought and there're a lot of heart and thought put into it. Granted there might be some things you can nitpick, i myself have found one or two issue in the story, which would've been great if it was properly explained rather than being left in the dark, but i don't think those part are overwhelmingly important towards the story. All the intentional imperfections created the limitations and flaws/defect, and those flaws are fleshed out and integrated as part of the story which then the mc have to work around or find a way to fix. It has its ups and downs. Almost everything has a reason why things are the way they are. it doesn't really take itself seriously in the first half with all the repetitive cliche/gags and references like death note "keikaku", but it gets more serious along the way. It can be understandable that the ending can be unsatisfactory or seemed abrupt, but i think it was wrapped up rather nicely, consistent and well thought.

Character:
almost all are rather shallow, lacking depth, and or generic but it is intentionally made to be that way. MC himself got a rather nice character growth which can be inspiring. rather realistic or believe able portrayal of mangaka and editorial department relationship and how it affects the end product.

Art:
Fairly decent. there aren't anything wrong or non proportionate, but it doesn't exactly stand out with brilliance either.

Enjoyment:
If you pay attention to details and keep an open mind, i think you can find this manga quite interesting and enjoyable. personally it was nice and enjoyable to me.

Overall:
I think it was a rather nice story. Not exactly unique with cliches intentionally used, but not necessarily unoriginal as well. It's the kind of story where you can take a self reflection at the end and find motivation out of it to better yourself and to keep going on. Kind of compelling and memorable. If you'd rather have plain generic isekai where mc just Want to laze around with their slow, boring, and non meaningful life but somehow finds success with their plot armor and op abilities that was somehow given by incompetent gods making mistakes, then this isn't the manga for you.
