Black Bird review
The unique thing about Black Bird for me is that, I ADORED all of the side characters. In contrast, I rarely felt anything for Misao and Kyo unless I was acknowledging a cute moment between them. I want Sagami and Ayame to have their own manga. The daitengu all had awesome backstories, which could have easily spinned off into their own stories. I am glad they didn't spin off though because they made the Black Bird experience tolerable and so much better. :D
The tengu orphanage babies are lovely in every way. Misao's parents are the best as well!
I liked how the story cast a realistic light on the human falls in love with supernatural species. In many chapters Misao struggles on whether she's ready to give up seeing her family and friends so freely to move with the Tengus.
I hated Kyo's manipulative, obsessively rude moments, like wanting to force his girl to watch him kill someone. I disliked Misao at times, for listening to him! Why in the world did she make herself watch that? She also cried TOO MUCH, more than humanly possible. :p
I feel bad for Kyo's brother's loneliness, but it didn't make me excuse his previous behavior. This manga has one HUGE problem: Rapey moments are not okay! They never will be! I don't care if you are super nice the next day or the next 600 chapters, trying to rape someone, even the Senka is WRONG.
Raikou (He's a legendary pokemon haha) needed to back the chicken feathers away from Misao. That's all that needs to be said there.
Conclusion:
If you dislike this manga for it's story, you will love it for it's characters (mostly side but the main have their moments too). Some of the kissing moments are sweet.
The smutty scenes are pretty easy to skim over as well. So, I wouldn't worry too much about them. The blood isn't overly gorey unless limbs are detached, and only arms get detached! I do get squeamish when Misao tries to cut her wrists though and all the talk about drinking her blood.
The story is also super hilarious! Some of Misao's expressions have me in laughing fits. One of my favorites is when she meets Sagami's wife, or when Kyo knees Zenki in the face. XD NO, no my all time favorite is when Misao (in a rare shining moment) outsmarts a mean, former orphan girl.
One thing though if the almost-rape moments do not all the way turn you off, a later scene that could be perceived as child abuse may. With context it's understandable but still unsettling
Overall, due to some smutty scenes I probably wouldn't recommend it to anyone, but it is an interesting read. I finished it within a week because I was binge reading it. The story sho' will keep you turning pages!

Black Bird review
Sexist garbage. I hate everything this manga stands for.
How can you enjoy reading a story about a woman being jerked around so badly by a man?
I stopped reading this manga after he yelled at her to watch him kill someone because it was her fault that it had to happen. She's a 16 year old girl, you monster.
It's hard for me to express all the problems here without really spoiling anything. If you are one of those women who likes the idea of having someone hiding in your trashcan at night, or who would find it romantic to one day come home and find that someone had put pictures of you all over the walls of your house (even though you locked the door that morning) than by all means, go read Black Bird.

Black Bird review
A very typcial shoujo premise - helpless girl with magic powers she doesn't really understand, saved by the main male character over and over, with a little bit of fantasy and demons thrown in. But I really, really like this manga.
Misao is sweet and likeable, even if she can't really take care of herself. She does try to do things on her own, and has a distinct personality - she's not so attached to Kyo that she never considers anyone else until a little ways into the manga. Kyo is hard to figure out. He's an enigma - does he really love her, or is it the necessity of his position in the Tengu family? The Tengu family and traditions as a whole are complex and interesting.
This manga is undoubtedly driven by character and romance more than plot, but the plot is still there. The romance is just ecchi enough without being super explicit. You might end up being impressed with this manga against your inclination. The art is very nice - something always seems weird to me about the boys' eyes - but overall, really beautiful. There are definitely scenes and moments in this manga that will make you catch your breath.

Black Bird review
well contrary to the other reviews i found this manga really intriguing.
well for every shojuo lover as myself this is good.
yeas the main character is a total clingy crybaby who cries about everything and gets in everyone's business and tries to help out but causes trouble instead.. but kyo and the rest of the daitengu are extremly funny this manga will surely have you rolling on the floor laughing not to mention the whole pervy guy and a virgin girl who is kinda a perve herself so needless to say this manga has alot of smutty smut smut :)
the only problem is the extreme amount of blood i swear the girl gets a cut o her finger and all he blood drains out her body but you can tolerate those scenes because you know kyo,s gonna heal her if ya know what i mean ;)

Black Bird review
Story:
I like the approach of the manga. It has the nice mixture of comedy and seriousness. I love how the brutality remains strong in his department but not overpowering. It didn't stain the serious and dark theme of the manga. The transitioning of themes and how the author linked each of them throughout the story's timeline is amazing.
Art:
The art may not be that perfect to suit my taste but nevertheless it is still prettily drawn and it's not some drawing that will make your eyes cringe in a long hours of reading.
Character:
I like how the author gave each of the characters their own unique tastes and well-being. The author did not create them just to have people supporting the main leads--which is really good because it gives off diversity to the whole setting of Black Bird. I liked how they appears to have their own lives outside of the main story.
Enjoyment:
I enjoyed the manga really good. I'm sure a lot of smutty readers will enjoy this one, too. (This manga has a lot of licking and kissing--if you're looking for a manga with plenty of that... Then pick this one up and start reading!)

Black Bird review
Black Bird, to me, was a huge disappointment.
Story (6):
The only likable part of this manga is the supernatural aspect. Other than that, there's nothing much to say. A girl who possesses special power and is in danger and a guy who protects her, with some rape scenes here and there. I would like to point out that the thing I dislike about Black Bird is how weirdly pace it is. New chapter. Boom. Out of nowhere new character(s). Some parts feel random and unconnected to the actual main plot. Other parts feel either rushed or totally pointless.
Art (8):
The art is pretty nice and unique, not too sparkly or too dull. Characters are well drawn and the guys are super attractive. (Don't have much to say -_-)
Character (4):
The heroine is worst part of the manga. Usually I can tolerate her type of chara, but this girl is truly annoying and idiotic. She cries about everything, happy, sad, horny. She's so damn insecure and doubtful, keep going on about if Kyou really like her and if it's really the right choice to be his wife. Not only that but she's also ungrateful. She never listens to Kyou due to her stupid stubbornness, and as result bringing danger to herself and people around her. I swear she's the reason for every single problem in this manga. Well, I can go on and on about her, but thankfully Kyou and the other characters save the day. Pretty much the only reason I kept reading was because they were cool, interesting, and not annoying like a certain someone.
Enjoyment (5):
Did I enjoy it? I will say that this manga was somewhat enjoyable to read if you can put past all the flaws this manga has. It's one of those silly manga you read when you don't really have anything else and want to kill some time. Whether you can successfully read all of the chapters is an entirely different story.
Overall (5):
Do I recommend Black Bird?
Uh I guess? It didn't really exceed my expectations, but it's not terrible ether. If you're interested in reading then I think you should give Black Bird a try.

Black Bird review
I have reread the manga multiple times, hoping that my opinion would change. Since I read mangas online, I have not finished the series. But I have read through chapter 35 or so.
I really hate Misao. I'm not gonna summarize it b/c the summary is already available.
But I really hate Misao. "Kyo-kun! Kyo-kun! Oh! Kyo-kun!" I swear, she really pisses me off. She's weak. She doesn't do anything at all, but be the damsel in distress and the "Holy Fruit." Read it and you'll understand. I feel that most of the female heroines in Shoujo mangas [with a few exceptions] misrepresent females in general. Not all females are weak and useless and cry and cry and only rely on some drop dead gorgeous guy. But really, I don't like her.
But it's not just her. I don't like the plot of the story as well. It's interesting some times and I was only reading it for Kyo [b/c he's ACTUALLY likeable], but the plot itself is weak.
So yeah... didn't really like it. I recommend it anyhow b/c I'm the type of girl who doesn't like females like that, but others might. So at least it's recommendable.

Black Bird review
Story (3): 16 year old girl can see spirits, some demon falls in love with her, who turns out to be her childhood friend...guy forces girl to fall in love with her to save his race or everyone blah blah blah.
Art (5-6):Its decent, not the worst I've seen..I've definitely seen better but not necessarily painful to look at.
Character (1):Oh god, don't even get me started with the characters...Misao is a very whiny pathetic crybaby, She had to be one of the weakest female chars I have ever seen/read...yeah..sure, I get that shes going through a lot, But seriously...she needs to get over it..and stop being so damn insecure, she is the very reason why I am contemplating dropping this manga...I seriously hope she dies, or at least toughens up and stops crying every other 2 damn pages. Kyo is just a damn pervert stalker, who attempts to molest her often. yeah, hes trying to protect her, but wtf. and I don't really remember any of the other chars due to their unimportance.
Enjoyment (2): It started out decently enough, but as I'm getting further along Misao is just becoming more and more irritating and just becoming even more of a whiny crybaby then before. I'm finding it physically and mentally more painful to proceed any further in this manga. and I hate dropping things, I often try to finish them often.
Overall (2): Reading this has probably been an equivalent to jumping off a cliff onto sharp jagged rocks and somehow surviving, while slowly laying there and bleeding out to death...I'm sure I would prefer that way more then to have to get through one more chapter of this crap.

Black Bird review
Well, if you are looking for manga that is a crossover between Twilight (yeah, I man the vampire novel series) and Kamisama Hajimemashita, look no futher. The story is about a human girl, that turns out to be not as human as you would expect (devine fruit, a temptation for demons, hello Stephanie Meyer) and a boy, demon, always tempted. They fall in love and face various difficulties. the story is actually quite enjoyable, as it has various arcs, that are all clever and fresh.
However, same as in Twilight, main female protagonist fails to protect and take care of herself an is all.the.time in need of assistance of male lead. This never change. She is always the pretty, tempting and helpless damsel in distress, from beginning to the end. Her only ambition is to be a bride to the male lead. She is almost everytime unable to make decision for herself. There are not many female characters in the story and if there any, they are either in a relationship with a friend of the male lead, in love with the male lead (with exeption of heroin's mother) and always helpless and dependant on men. The male characters are not that flat. This makes it so unrealistic, chauvinistic, and brings, otherwise good plot of the manga with great world, way waaaay down.

Black Bird review
Black Bird is a manga that on first sight is exciting and holds a lot of potential. The mysterious girl who can see things that no one else can see and is awaiting the return of her childhood friend, the only person she ever met who could see these "things" as well. I have to admit that the premis grabbed my attention right away. However, the male lead Kyo was less than a gentleman and the entire way through seemed to only be after one thing, that being to seduce Misao. Although intially she backs away from him and tells him off, eventually she decides
that she loves him and must rely on him in all things. Black Bird premotes an unhealthy relationship between a girl and boy in which the man is a stalker and a pervert and yet the girl somehow loves him despite his distaisteful qualities.
If you like violence, sexual tension, and seductive deamon stalkers, then you would enjoy Black Bird. If you like honorable, intelligant characters and a less bloody and smuttish story, then Black Bird is definately not the manga for you.

Black Bird review
Harada, Misao is a sixteen-year-old chick (16! Oh, what a surprise!), in highschool (two surprises already, I don't know how many more surprises I can take!) and can see freaky mumbo jumbo (spirits, demons, ghosts, you name it: she saw it) and then pops up Usui, Kyo who then becomes her teacher *SURPRISED gasp* (although this fact is forgotten later on in the story... Somehow) and tells her he's her childhood friend and that she has to marry him or risk getting eaten by fellow youkai.
"I thought I was having a nightmare" said main protagonist, you thought YOU were having a nightmare, I KNOW I was having a one. The story was rubbish, it was like sticking your head through a wood chipper; it was a make-out fest with villains that weren't really villains; more like friends who badly tried to act as villains. It was flat, it was a sickly sweet romance story that would make anyone barf. Seriously, how many "I am your childhood friend that you have forgotten about but I have never forgotten about you, now let's snog" stories does one have to get through to find a good story: a billion? Annoying doesn't seem to even begin to describe the book. It's all about saving the day from a main antagonist to the next, YAAAY! And then it goes from a miserably cheesy love story to talk of conspiracy, did I miss something?
Okay, here's the deal, the main character Misao or whatever her name is, is a major crybaby and that would be an insult to all crybabies out there. When she's sad, she cries; when she's happy, she cries; when she's making out, she cries; when she goes to the bathroom and realises there's no toilet paper, she cries. I swear with the amount of crying the characters do in this Manga, now, I know the real reason behind rising sea levels and it's not global warming. This girl needs therapy, she hangs out with her lover/childhood friend every damned second, and he's spying over her if she's anywhere than not by his side but hey, that isn't the problem here. It's the comeback of the ' does he love me? *blush* *blush* ' problem.
I.N.S.E.C.U.R.E.
The art was the kind of art where if you find five pointy things coming out of an oval, you had to presume it was a hand. No details whatsoever. The fight scenes were like 'Kill Bill', it was like a blood fountain even if it was just a paper cut. And the fact that the characters and the story were awful, you kinda expect it to be this way but is there no hope for exquisite illustrations anymore?! I guess so; for every million books you read, you'll find 1.5 books that have good art. Why 1.5? Because my calculator says so.
Did I enjoy it? If you actually got to the wood chipper part of my review, you'd probably have thought no and your right. Throughout the Manga I was begging for someone to put me out of my misery, which no one obliged; so obviously a bucket of bloody wood chips down and a couple of thumbs too.

Black Bird review
I came across Black Bird after I finished reading Hana to Akuma. Being a fan of youkai(s) and stuff (because they are somewhat gorgeous lol), this manga caught my interest. Initially, I really love the plot of the story. The manga was good, it is entertaining. However, there are downsides to it as well. I somewhat find Misao kinda annoying the way she wails and stuff and that she always cries. I love how Kyo acts sometimes, though. The way he gives off that mysterious aura is a plus points for me. However, I did not like the ending of this manga because basically, how
can he even hate his own son. I mean, it's his own flesh and blood, and he acts so cold and like a jerk towards the kid. It was really annoying. Over all, it was worth a read, it may not be the best but it's worth it.

Black Bird review
What can I say about Black Bird except that it was an unbelievable read. In the beginning, I was a little worried about reading it - simply because I haven't read manga in a VERY long time and I wasn't sure in my choice. I mean, the plot synopsis' I read sounded interesting enough, and I loved the cover art (which was my main reason for buying it in the first place - I know, I know; what a horrible way to pick a manga, right?). But it turned out to be surprisingly good and...addicting. The characters are lovable and fun. The story line was
interesting and captivating. The art was outstanding...I don't know what else to say except that this is probably my favoritest manga ever. (:

Black Bird review
This is one of the manga that when I read, I know it is just a fiction. I keep reminding myself that, too. Otherwise, it will be very annoying and absurd. How come you lick a girl's neck without her consent just because she agreed to marry, when she was a toddler? Totally unacceptable! So, put aside common sense when reading it. Of course, it is hard, but chapter after chapter, we get to know this story about love and how preserve it. In this case, how to preserve your loved one. The youkai world is nasty and harsh, blood spill everywhere on a whim,
yet this one guy/thing, Kyou Usui, turned out somewhat right. He is loving and protective to the ones he care about and adamant on protecting what he needs and he wants. Misao, is what he needs and wants and thus he fiercely protects her. He could have just eat her and be eternal yet that is not what he had in mind.
Surely, Misao deserves to live her own life but she keeps thinking about this boy who she vaguely remembers as her first love. Was it Kyou or Shou, nobody will ever know, but she surely decided that it is Kyou. She was already hopelessly into this idea of "Kyou" her first love, so when he returned and turned out to be a handsome male adult with extraordinary power and one goal in mind: to marry her, that is just like a hattrick moment for her. He waited for her to be voluntarily 'married' to after many attacks and hindrance.
His actions before they finally together, however, is like he already has her, yet it is not the case. But since she was attacked by demons right from the beginning of the series, she gradually believes that she needs a protection from a very powerful being. He believed it also and that is why he strive so hard to be the leader of his clan so his beloved Misao cannot be vanished just like that, after being captured by other demons. He knows that it is unavoidable and he knows that his brother Shou, the original clan leader, was so abusive and cold. Kyou cannot let Misao into Shou's hands after seeing that little Misao got slapped by Shou just because he gave her the mud balls (although we do learn that it is NOT the mud that made Shou angry). In order to protect Misao, he sets his mind to beat his older brother and be the clan leader. So, first lesson is you must be strong or have power in order to protect your loved ones.
Second lesson is that, in love, there must be an equally great give and take. It is symbolize by the senka power that lies inside Misao's body. That power can only be used by youkai or demons and other supernatural beings, and useless to humans. I am referring all this from the story of the last chapter. The senka power is so great on youkais that they can do unbelievable things, including bring their loved ones to life after death.
At the end, it is a very nice love story.
Black Bird review
I enjoyed every aspect of this manga. From the fantastic art to the amazing charqcters, it was a ten across the bored for me.
Art: The art is one of my favorite parts. As the plot is character based, it's obvious that they would get the most detail. The characters are all stunning and perfectly drawn in a way that their facial expressions convey their every emotion. To me, the most outstanding features are Misao and Kyou's gazes. Misao's gaze is generous and soulful whereas Kyou's gaze is hard and flinty. The contrast between the two really play on each other. It's also wonderful to see how Kyou's gaze softens only for Misao.
Characters: I love the two main characters. They compliment each other perfectly. Kyou is chivalrous but he has a hilarious perverted side. His snarky comments really liven up the serious situations that are abundant throughout the series. He reminds me of Damon Salvator for The Vampire Diaries. As long as Misao is safe, he doesn't care if the rest of the world burns. Misao is often accused of being weak but I think it's the exact opposite. Her strength is displayed via the fact that she is a normal girl placed in an extremely abnormal situation. Who wouldn't cry? I cry at tv commercials so darn right I would cry in all those situations that Misao gets into. Misao is also extremely selfless and cares much more about those around her than she does her own welfare. While not traditionally booksmart, Misao is very good with people and picking up on the emotions around her.
All in all, I really loved this series and would like to read others like it.

Black Bird review
Black Bird is a enticing, erotic manga written for anyone who likes forbidden love . No not any of that Twilight Crap D:
Black Bird is a story a girl named Misao who sees spirits and deals with the constant struggle of them and the reoccurring dream of a boy saying "Come be by my side" After a long day and hating life she comes home to find him !( Kyo )And he's hot !!! What she did not expect was that he was a tengu prince and that all these demons are after her to either eat her or bed her! He was coming to take her away to be her bride. ( If it was me I would be Hell yeah!!! )
Kyo and Misao's love is full of danger and every turn they are at risk of being killed but she is willing to risk it to be with Kyo
In my opinion she isn't a dumb bimbo who waiting for that be my bad boy tengu thing :P And Kyo is serious but yet hilarious in a perverted way. The side characters are the icing on the cake adding innocence and funny things otherwise the whole thing would be full drama . Warning though I advise you are kinda mature to read this because if you are like a 12 year old it might shock you O.o They kinda get down and dirty a ton but keep saying they can't go all the way. It's sorta annoying because then I feel like I'm reading porn but the other side of me says "JUST DO IT ALREADY ITS GETTING ANNOYING !"
all in all this is a great book and you need to get it XDDD
ps if you don't know what a tengu is it's a demon that is human or sometimes a bird person who is the demon of a black bird or crow. Their is different interpretations of it but I like the black bird way X3 Also Tengu's are supposed to be my demon it turns out lol

Black Bird review
Let me start by expressing how I feel about this manga. This is the best manga I have ever read possibly ever, I know others will defiantly disagree with me but when I read this manga it defines my very soul. The storyline while for me is a bit confusing at times will always turn into something I can understand. The art is not overdone like in some manga's there is just soo much stuff going on in one portion I cannot continue reading. but the art is beautiful and simple. I think the characters are great, and while some may argue with how the
men in this series behave I personally love how seductive and forceful, but yet gentle the main character(kyo) is. I really really enjoy reading this series though, the whole thing that drew me in was the beautiful artwork of the front cover I started off by reading volume 2 because I took one look at the cover and i said to myself "that looks like a great manga" and I'm working on my collection of the series currently just purchased the latest volume 11. anyways thats off topic, but if your interested in those kind of sappy, cute, awkward manga's that you would be embarrassed to show your mother, then this is defiantly the manga for you.

Black Bird review
I'm a huge fan of shoujo and josei manga, so when I came across this title, I was very excited. Especially while reading the from 30 chapters, but as it went on there were scenes I found somewhat... Not so appetizing. The build up to the climax was executed beautifully, but the ending left me with many questions and a strong dislike towards Kyo. In one scene he made me cringed because he over reacted to a child and their ignorance but at the end of the day I enjoyed the series. It's filled with hot guys, progression of other romantic relationships between
different characters and redemption of a revengeful tengu. I suggest everyone who love this genre to read it.

Black Bird review
Story started out so good! Wish that would have continued for longer. It was interesting storyline and mystery. Once they stop showing the school as the main background it starts to go a bit downhill. The 6 year olds were confusing, as others have pointed out- the crying was excessive, and there are a lot of side stories (ch 60.5 kind of stuff that is sometimes cute but most of the time it interruptsa dramatic part in the story). I did like the art- especially being able to tell people apart. Wish there were more female characters as I felt the main character was too
much an island with no female advice and especially no advice from anyone human or more on her side than the BF.
Favorite part was when school friends met BF.

Black Bird review
I usually read only BL comics, so I was surprised at how much I've fallen for Black Bird.
The artwork is absolutely gorgeous. The characters are beautiful (Host Club lol).
The storyline is rather engaging. The concept is very original.
The heroine is very average and easy to relate to.
There's plenty of suggestive scenes to enjoy.
In short, this is a very sexy manga, and you definitely should give it a read.
